It's my fault - I should have checked the room before checking in.
I was told it was the last non-smoking room (#104) and since I was on the road all day and dead tired I just took it.
If there wasn't mildew in the bathroom and big stains on the sofa and chair, it would have been ok. It’s an older hotel with a lot of fix-ups.
I was in no mood to complain, even after receiving a wake up call at 7:00am which I never asked for!
I must say that the person at the check-in desk was very friendly.

Very unhappy with the stay here. My husband insisted that we stay at a Ramada because he always had a good experience. Air conditioning barely worked and it was 106 degrees. Bed was very uncomfortable and the sheets kept falling off because they used a flat sheet on the mattress (instead of a fitted sheet). Eventhough we had a 2 bedroom room (with 2 doubles) we only had 2 towels. We didn't need to worry about a wake-up call because we had a man standing in the dumpster outside our room at 4:30 am looking for cans and glass to recycle, and he was very loud!! This continued for 30 minutes. I will never stay there again! What a disappointment!

A Very Nice Surprise!

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel, as I didn't have a good experience at the last Ramada I stayed in in Salt Lake City (it was not a Suites however). Front desk staff were extremly helpful and accomodating; the room was spacious and clean; a sign announced the effort to upgrade a spacious bathroom with better towels, showerhead, etc. and it proved to be true -- a very nice bathroom; there was free Internet available in a room off just the lobby; and a nice continental breakfast with waffles was served in the morning. The location was good, just off the freeway (but don't plan on sleeping with the windows open!), and very near restaurants such as Marie Callendars and adjacent to a good Sizzler Steakhouse that we walked to. We liked the overall experience so much that on our return from Yosemite we cancelled reservations at another facility and stayed at Ramada Suites once again.

My recent stay at this hotel was very pleasant. Most of the nice hotels in Bakersfield charge over $100 for a night in this desert city. We were extremely satisfied when we found this friendly hotel. The staff here is really friendly and welcoming. You can tell they are really trying to upgrade the quality of the hotel with new towels and linens. They have large breakfast room with complimentary breakfast which was quite enjoyable. For less money, you are getting the same quality of other over $100 a night hotels. Highly recommended!
