This is a beautiful, well-located hotel that is easy to get to by Tram. The room was large and had several windows for a nice breeze. The room was also disgusting in some crucial ways: what looked like a "butt mark" stain on the sheet, a bathroom that wasn't very clean, half-used personal sized bag of q-tips... for $380 a night!
We put a wet towel against the door and pillows part way up to keep the cigarette smoke out of our non-smoking room.
The staff was polite but not genuinely nice. There was a lot of graffiti just outside the hotel which made me nervous about the location. The old section of Zurich was nice to walk around during the day and we were located perfectly for that. We left too early for the breakfast.

The hotel looks wonderfully old worldand is comfortable, well maintained and very clean. The welcome is very friendly and the staff were most helpful with all my queries. The hotel provides low key, old fashioned service and there is a lovely garden terrace perfect for summer dining. The location is excellent on the edge of the old town and within walking distance of everything if you enjoy a wander. The welcoming glass of champagne is a winner and sets the tone. I felt very safe and at ease staying on my own and acquired a comfortable and cosy room with ensuite. I have already reccommended it to my friends and plan to return. It's a wonderful stop for me en route to and from Hong Kong/Sydney - a long journey. Thank you for a lovely time at a super hotel.

I used this hotel to celebrate my parents' wedding anniversary and they gave first-class and very friendly service. The hotel, celebrating its 100th birthday, is in an attractive old building on the edge of the old town in a quiet area, within reasonable walking distance of the centre and with a bus/tram stop within a few minutes walk. The rooms are well decorated, of mixed sizes but generally okay, although we found them almost-unbearably hot during a warm sunny spell. The staff were very friendly. An evening meal was very good, but a little expensive and "designer", although the hotel did give us a great recommendation for a more traditional dinner the following evening. Breakfast was reasonable - good quality but a slightly small selection. Free cakes and afternoon tea were available each day at 3.30pm and there is a delightful garden terrace.
Zurich as a whole was a wonderful weekend break destination.

We stayed in Romanik Florhof for 2 nights and were generally happy with the service and our room. This hotel has an old feel to it (not in a positive way), which I think could be improved by simple basic renovation i.e. fresh coat of paint and new bathtub. There is no tea/coffee maker in the room and NO room-service which is a huge downside. So if you would like a cup of tea or coffee at 4 pm, you have to go down to the lobby.
Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Location of the hotel is perfect and within walking distance from Bahnhofstrasse and centre of the city.
We encountered a lot of rude people in Zurich, starting with the taxi driver who even did not bother to get out of the car to open it for our luggage to the very poor service in restaurants. We also did not feel safe walking at 9 p.m. in the city centre.
But we might give Zurich a second chance.

From the moment we arrived to Romantik Hotel Florhof, it was faboulous. Check-in was swift and we received a glass of sparkling wine as welcome. It sure did make us feel welcome!
Our room was beautifully appointed, with the most comfy bed. Just like we requested, it was quiet and non-smoking.
Breakfast the following morning was really good, elegantly done.
The only thing that bothered my husband was WIFI in our room not working all the time. However, after I talked to the reception, they immediately pointed him to their business center where he could check his mails with no problems whatsoever.
Romantik Hotel Florhof is located only 5 minutes from the Limmat river in a pretty area. The hotel is really superb. Upon check-out, I even got a chocolate as a present.
Previously when we were in Zurich, we always stayed at Bar Hotel Seehof. Well, I'm really happy we found Romantik Hotel Florhof, as it is a much better, not to mention classier property, for a tiny bit higher price. Whenever we'll be in Zurich in the future, we will stay at Romantik Hotel Florhof.
