Have just returned from a memorable winter week`s holiday at the Achtermann. Included in the charge of 100 Euros per day for 2 persons was an expansive buffet breakfast and free use of the swimming pool and saunas. As we stayed for 7 nights we were given a large room with sofa, armchairs and writing desk. Hotel restaurant offered local specialities at reasonable cost and we also enjoyed relaxing in the most comfortable surroundings of the hotel cafe. All staff were most helpful and friendly. I doubt if we would find a similar class of hotel at such a price in the UK!

Kommen gerade von einem sehr schönen Winterurlaub im Achtermann zurück. Im Preis von 100 Euro/Tag/Person war das große Frühstücksbuffet und die Pools und Saunas enthalten. Da wir für eine Woche hier waren, bekamen wir ein großes Zimmer mit Sofas, Sesseln und einem Schreibtisch ausgestattet. Im Hotelrestaurant gab es lokale Spezialitäten und wir haben viele angenehme Stunden in den entspannenden Cafés der Umgebung verbracht. Alle Angestellten waren hilfsbereit und freundlich. Ich glaube nicht, dass wir ein vergleichbar gutes Hotel zu diesem Preis in England finden werden!

We were very excited to stay at this hotel since it was a restored castle. The location was great, close to train station and town. It is rated a 4 star. The breakfast was excellent but the rooms were very small, with tiny bathrooms and stained carpets. Certainly not worth the 4 stars in our experience. It did look like there were some larger rooms on the ends of the building with bigger windows but we didn't have one of those.
