The Wehrle is a small deluxe hotel with a long tradition. I was impressed by the comparatively high standard which I didn't expect in such a remote place. Especially the spa is to be recommended, rather small but fully featured and fancy designed. Don't expect a big park it is very small as well.
Nothing to complain about staff apart from the waiters which sometimes had no real idea of the wine offering. The restaurants were superb anyway.
The town is not very lovely, too much junk goods shops selling Black Forest stereotypes. As we were told there will be major investments into the touristic infrastructure since the area has not much to offer apart from hiking.

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Park Hotel recently. While it is a tradional German hotel, we didn't find it outdated at all as some other reviewers seemed to.
Our room was pretty and comfortably equipped, bathroom was spacious and clean, the spa area was fantastic, and breakfast was ample and varied. We also enjoyed the free wifi in the room. All staff members we had contact with were friendly and welcoming.
This is a very nice place to stay when visiting Triberg.

This hotel was likely a wonderful resort in it's day, but it is rather tired. The staff were wonderful and the common areas nice, with a nice breakfast, but the room was somewhat tired and the Triberg area was not overly exciting. The Falls are lovely and hiking around them was fun, but they are no more exciting than any I have seen in the US. As we were there, we did buy a cuckoo clock which is THE thing to buy, but the area is not overly exciting.

Very nice room with balcony and a wellness centre many five star would envy. The garden is just nearing completion (June 2007) and will add to the beauty of your balcony view. The food in the evening was served with a grand gesture but did not quite live up to the occasion, still it was good value. The breakfast lacked imagination but sufficed.
If you are touring you need a car as other placing of interest are about one hours dive. This would be the same anywhere in this beautiful area. Hire a car with a sat. nav. There are no tour operators here.
Don’t rely on a “lie-in” as the church clock opposite starts to chime from 7.30 am.
If it is a “Saint’s day” you will be woken by what sounds like canon fire at 6.00 am a brass band at 6.30 and more canon fire at 7.00 and then there is the church clock but now joined by every bell in the town at 7.30 I counted 180 chimes, sad I know but what else is there to do! Then you will be charged a town tax on your departure for the privilege of this morning call! This is nevertheless a delightful town and a great place to explore this part of Germany.
