Hotel Am Schloss is a very nice, clean and comfortable hotel. They have a very nice big breakfastbuffet! The hotel is located near a nice whitecoloured castle in Ahresburg. The town is okay, but nothing specielt, but in a short distance to L?beck and Hamburg. If you'll like to take a nice shower in this hotel, don't do it in the morning, because then there is only icecold water! The capacity of the waterheating installation at the hotel can't cope with the number of guest!

We loved the hotel, especially since it was right around the corner from the Schloss. We were shown to a really lovely corner room and were thrilled until we noticed no ashtray since we had specified smoking. We were then moved to a lesser room and not so thrilled. There is some confusion about smoking rooms although I'm guessing it won't be a problem for long since Europe is leaning twards Non Smoking everything. We spent 5 days and enjoyed the hotel and the convienience of getting to Hamburg by train. The breakfast buffet was excellent as was the service. There is a newer section of rooms which we weren't even aware of including the amenities of this section which included an intimate resturant, bar, and sauna. I would highly recommend if you a looking for nice local hotel.

Rooms were clean, ample breakfast buffet, friendly personnell. A good place to stay when visiting Hamburg without staying in the city itself. Nothing special, but solid. You are not far away from the train station (a public bus may also take you there), and around the corner there is the beautiful castle.
