Just as well I didn't find these reviews before I booked at this hotel, or I'd never have gone there...and I'm not disappointed by what I found when we did stay there!
Yes, its an older property, and yes, it could do with some updating. But there's nothing wrong with that!
We chose this hotel because it was one of the cheapest (so we knew we shouldn't expect five-star service and amenities), and it offers wireless internet access (that works!) in the rooms, and the airport shuttle stops there (no other motels that I previewed mentioned that the shuttle service stops there, so how were we to know that it even existed as an alternative to a taxi?!).
Our room (#21) was clean - it didn't smell at all!
The bathroom is tiny and very dated, but clean.
Nice comfy bed!
Nice little balcony with French doors.
(By the way, cockroaches are a fact of life in Queensland ... no matter whether the place is clean enough to eat off the floor, you'll still come across them!)
The hotel is situated on a major arterial road so, yes, it can be noisy...but it didn't disrupt our sleep...just be sure to request a room that's back from the road if you think the traffic noise will bother you!
As others reported, the Vagelis cafe/bar, about 10 minutes' walk away on Racecourse Road, is very pleasant - we enjoyed the all-day brekkie on their deck.
Book online through one of the last-minute websites...its cheaper than booking direct...I was surprised that they wouldn't honour the Wotif rate if I booked direct, and save themselves the commission but, hey, if they prefer to pay a third party, that's their business!
The only REAL problem that we noticed with the property is room access ... it would not be good for people who'll have difficulty with stairs and lugging suitcases up and down! No lift, no porter (but who expects a porter in a budget hotel, anyway?!).
Otherwise, I would recommend this place for a one-night stay!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Dingy, smelly and very outdated. We booked via info from Jasons Motel Guide. The 1st room we were given was called a conference room, it had 4 beds (all too old and soft), smelt like a swimming pool and had a large white board on the wall. The toilet had no toilet paper and the grubby looking shower had an old used cake of soap in it. YUK! I asked for another room and they reluctantly moved us. The new room was much better but still way below standard for 3.5 stars. Very basic room with shower and toilet cramped into one small space. The beds in this room were comfortable, but very cramped into a small space, and the air conditioning was fairly new and worked well. I was very glad we had only booked for one night as it was a depressing place to be. This dump is not worth $150 a night. I suggest that people take note of this and other reviews and stay at one of the other airport hotels nearby.

We spent a night at the Airport Hacienda Motel, basically to use up a Best Western voucher but also owing to an early morning flight from Brisbane Airport.
Other reviewers have said it all in respect of the tired and dated rooms, a real throwback to the 1970s. Unlike other reviewers we didn't have any issues as far as the cleanliness of the room was concerned, but the service provided at the front desk by two different receptionists was quite abrupt.
Kingsford Smith Drive is an extremely busy road, so traffic noise is an issue (especially if near the front of the property, as we were). The motel was built when Brisbane Airport was nearby, but the current airport is 6km away, so it's not really as close as one expects an airport hotel to be.
There are many other motels in the vicinity, so we'd suggest spending a few extra $ and staying at somewhere more modern.

My husband and I chose this hotel for the location near the airport since we had a very early flight the next morning. The sign outside says 24 hour check-in, but the office is only open from 6am-9:30pm, so I'm not really sure how that works. We paid when we checked in at 5pm and just made sure we didn't incur any incidentals. There isn't an elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, just keep that in mind. Parking is free, which is great. However, our room smelled like someone had just gone crazy in there with a can of air freshener which makes me wonder what smell they were trying to cover up. Due to the smell, we decided to spend as little time in the room as possible. It wasn't a bad hotel to sleep in the night before you fly out, but I wouldn't want to stay here for any longer than 12 hours.

As many noted in their reviews, we also picked this hotel due to an early morning flight. Convienient - yes. Decent - no. This motel was nowhere near comparable to Best Westerns in the US. My husband, daughter and I were happiest when we were out of the room. Even if catching an early flight, pay a few extra bucks and stay somewhere else. You'll be glad you did.
