The Inchcolm is good value for the price. This was our main assessment. It does have some character, for example the old iron lift, but still has the feeling of a fairly average - but nevertheless comfortable - hotel. With a big cash injection, it could become something really special. They offer valet parking (extra cost) which is useful to know as when we arrived we spent quite a while driving around looking for somewhere to park. The front desk were friendly and helpful.

I just spent two nights at The Inchcolm staying in a one bedroom apartment and also a studio. The location is great if you want to be close to the Valley or CBD, each room is individualised and named after a historical figure in Australian history, and the room facilities are perfectly adequate for a short stay. There is nothing glam about the decore which perhaps reflects its former use as medical rooms. The beds tended to be small (double rather than queen/king) and the ac noisy in one of the rooms. Apart from this, no problems and frontdesk staff very helpful. The Seasalt Restaurant is pricey yet popular so you need to be book.

The Quality Inchcolm has a lot of character from the old fashioned elevator to the individuality of each room. It's also well located in the City Centre and walking distance to the river. We especially liked that it was only 15 minutes from the airport and the front desk staff is very helpful--- booking our restaurant and getting our taxi. We would definitely recommend it!

As with other reviewers, we found this boutique hotel to be a wonderful place to stay. Affordable, good food in the restaurant. Central location - IF you can find the place. We were in a car and drove all around before our friends in town gave us a hand finding it. Even on foot you could easily miss it in the maze of streets in this area. Do your self a favor, call ahead and let them steer you in the right direction - it's worth it!
