We stayed at this property on two separate days in August. One reason for the choice was reviews which highlighted the refurbishment recently undertaken. If this is a definition of refurbishment I would not like to have seen our room prior. We also chose this hotel after viewing web photos of room interiors on a number of booking sites. My first impression upon entering the room was "Pokey!" We had booked a triple room and expected to find three permanent beds. Not so. Although barely acceptable for a couple this "double room" was certainly unacceptable for 3 adults. A rollaway bed was thrown into what was designed as a small lounge area thereby negating any thought of relaxing in the evening. No thought was given to extra towels, chairs, glasses etc for the third person. Upon checkout, i reminded reception of our return in 4 days and my expectation of improvement. The duty manager assured us he would take care of things. We found our room to be marginally bigger however the rollaway bed was back! AND, No extra towels, cups glasses etc. It took two more calls to reception before these were provided, (we thought grudgingly ) On a positive note , the location was excellent, walking distance to many places of interest. Great pub opposite for bar lunches.
In summary this was not a comfortable stay, essentially we felt cheated! We booked and paid for a room for three adults. Not a memorable experience ! We shall not return!

This was extremley disappointing - especially after all the awards they seem to have won!
We had a suite as there were 3 of us, it was small, dated and grim -facing the back of the buidling. They eventually wheeled in a bed which looked like a hospital bed after several calls when we realised that there was nowhere for the 3rd person to sleep.
The bar service was dreadful - waited half an hour for the barman to make a Mohitio cocktail (this included time for them to run out and get mint!) when it arrived it looked like a glass of pond water and didnt taste any better - they had also poured some scary syrup like mixture from a plastic ice cream tub into the drink.
The pool is small and echoey and overlooked by rooms, the gym consists of one machine. If this hotel was a hostel and prices reflected this then fine - but for the cost and the fact its rated 4 star it is wholefully out of its depth.
On a positive note we did get a free upgrade to a luxury suite (basic certainly not luxury) and free drinks.

Nice hotel located near the gay area of the city. Within walking distance to good shopping, transportation very close by. Nice clean rooms, except for the large metal garbage cans located in the bathroom, the type one would find under a kitchen sink. Room overlooked the very nice swimming pool. Check-in quick and friendly, restaurant and internet also available.

Stayed here as it represented good value for money for Sydney. Room was clean, but bathroom was pretty old. There was an ironing board, but no iron.
The main thing to note is the noise. The rooms that overlook the pool pick up the echoes of every footstep and conversation of guests, plus the rattles and clunks of the staff cleaning trolleys in the morning.
The sauna is good, gym is very basic. Staff at reception not overly helpful. Location is good - walking distance to bars and cafes at Oxford Street and through Hyde Park into the city.
Overall - it's OK if there's not much else in your price range, but usually for the price you can get slightly better elsewhere.

Excellent staff, nicely modern lobby area. Rooms can be on the small side but are clean and also modern, though do appear to still be under renovations (one of our two rooms had a fairly older looking shower stall). Short walk to the Oxford St. shopping area, a bit longer of a walk to Darling Harbor area. Thankfully, easy access to the city's bus system is nearby. In room internet service may not be included, but can be added for fee. Very good bargain option.
