Just came home today from two weeks in the Gold club at The Royal Mirage Palace. We had returned this year after staying at the hotel 4 years ago for our honeymoon and were certainly not dissappointed. The hotel was still fantasic! The service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. The hotel is excellently maintained. The Gold club is worth paying the extra for as you get afternoon tea between 3-5pm and cocktails, spirits and wine from 6 - 8pm. 24 hours a day you can have tea, coffee and soft drinks. We went on a half board basis and you can have a set menu or an allowance towards your food (which we very rarely had to add anything to). You do not get boared on the half board as there is 8 different resturants to choose from and you can dine in all three parts to the hotel . There are two buffet style resturants ,Olives and the Rotisseriee. The Beach Bar and grill is very romantic and the steaks and seafood is amazing. You can have Indian in Ninas, which is also excellant, we went here for our anniversary dinner and the resturat put rose petals on the table ( making the setting extremly romantic). Euazone is oriental and I would have to say this and Nina were my favourite. The pool is huge and no matter how busy the hotel is the pool is nerver crowded. I cant wait to go back again next year. It is the special attention everyone gets from staff and the opulance of the hotel that make it a holiday of a lifetime.

We have just returned from a week at the "One and Only" with Virgin Holidays. What a briliant hotel. We have stayed in hotels all over the world and I can honestly say that this was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. (I cannot understand the previous comments from "Lady P" what hotel did she go to, it certainly wasn't the same one as us!!).
It was my birthday during our stay. When we arrived at our room there was a huge bouquet of flowers, a gift wrapped pashmina and a gorgeus chocolate cake with my name on it. On leaving the hotel there was another card and a gift of a photo album. This was all way and beyond what I would expect at any hotel.
The hotel was spotless, the rooms cleaned and attended to twice a day. It was immaculate. The staff were so friendly and would do anything for you. A special mention to the pool attendants who waited on us hand and foot for the whole time we were there and were always smiling and polite. They would take your drink order, bring lots of cold water, fresh fruit platters and clean your sunglasses for you. By the lifts on each floor was a smiling attendant just to show you the way to your room. (I must admit it took a couple of days to find our way around the corridors).
The food was really good. There was plenty of choice and the restaurants were excellent. Lovely breakfast with loads of choices. We went to the Olives buffet a couple of times and the fusion one, but our favourite was the seafood restaurant. The set menu there was excellent. My husband had oysters there one night and paid the extra but it was very reasonable.
We did find the drinks expensive. I only drink wine and the cheapest bottle in the restaurants was about ?20 but you can expect that in most 5 star hotels.
All in all it was a very relaxing chilled out holiday. Great hotel, lovely white beach with crystal clear (if somewhat hot) water. I would certainly go back there again but not in the summer months and would recommend this hotel to everyone. Fantastic.

This is without question the best hotel I have ever stayed in the world, closely followed by its sister hotels Le Saint Geran and Le Touessrok on Mauritius.
If you can't have a fantastic time at this hotel, there is something seriously wrong with you.The atmosphere and service is second to none.
If you want a great time make sure you go to the belly dancing in the desert, you wont be disappointed.

We have just returned and like other reviews cannot fault any part of the hotel. Service was amazing. We also were at the gold club and would definitely recommend it. The pool was amazing, as was the beach - sea so warm, great activities at hotel also, but not over the top, eg volly ball, badminton tournaments.
We were not put off by construction work at all, we can't wait to go back - and we probably will next year to this hotel!

One & Only The Palace Dubai UAE
I travel to Dubai at least 10 times per year for Business/holiday.
I normallly stay at the Royal Meridien, but have also stayed in numerous other hotels i.e. Meridien Dubai, Mina Seyahi, Grosvenor House, so for a change i booked to stay at One & Only.
My stay there lasted less than 24hrs, I checked out & moved to Royal Meridien.
I arrived at the Palace 02.30am, no one to greet at the door, no porters to take luggage, reception staff, obviously tired & could not be bothered with guests at that time in the morning.
(Made to feel a nuisance asking questions)
Hotel room was ok, bed linen was dirty, breakfast was cold.
Went to the pool, could not find a chair, called a pool attendant & asked for chairs , was told they were all reserved.
Not acceptable for Dubai & told him to find some chairs, he reluctantly did.
Pool waiter service non existent.
Lunch at pool side resturant, poor quality, overpriced and bland.
Decided at this point to move to another hotel. Upon checking out early, not once was I asked why I was checking out early or did I wish to speak to a Manager.
Within the hour I was in a room at Royal Meridien (where the service is always outstanding)
Yes, The Arabian Court, One & Only and The Palace are attractive hotels and if you have never been to Dubai before you would think it is wonderful hotel, but the service lets it down badly.
The entire staff need to be re-trained. For a 5* hotel in Dubai it is not one of the best, Let alone one of the leading hotels of the world.
I agree with another review , the One & Only have become very complacent with guests.
