The peabody is rich with history. The food is great. The rooms are small but that is because of the age of the building. They keep the building well updated. THe duck parade is a must for anyone traveling through Memphis. I recommend a trip down Beale street, eating at the Beauty Shop and Automatic Slim's. You have to have some Strawberry Cake while you are there. (and of course visit Elvis) The hotel is clean, location is great but it is pricey!

I love everything about this hotel. To me, it feels like home. The lobby, the staff, the rooms, the location, the food & drinks... everything is perfect here. It is the picture of old southern hospitality. The ducks are cute, they are not why I stay at the Peabody. I stay here because it makes me happy, there is a warmth to the people here, to the atmosphere, to the decor even. It is worth every dime, and anyone who complains about it simply has expectations that are unrealistic - and I work in the hotel industry and have stayed in the best and the worst - and I tell you, this is the BEST. I cannot imagine why anyone would not love it here.

my husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Memphis Peabody and enjoyed it immensely. The georgous lobby, lavish details, piano playing in the lobby, recalled the gracious charm and elegance of a bygone era. The twice-daily duck procession to and from that exquisite lobby fountain was too cute for words. Our spacious, comfortable room was in the club level on the 12th floor, and included a lavish continental breakfast with amazing fresh-baked pastries, fruits, cereals, etc, our own concierge, and valet parking. The entire hotel is spotless from the shining marble floors to the wood-carved and stained glass ceiling. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Most attractions, such as Beale Street, Civil Rights Museum, Mississippi River boat rides, shopping, all within walking or trolley distance. Neeley's BBQ a little more of a walk, but worth the effort! Can't wait to come back next year for Sunday brunch and the rooftop parties--and more DUCKS!

This is a great looking hotel. Overall there are a lot of positives e.g. room quality good, the location is ideal, the hotel is quite opulent etc. the negative is the total cost can be a little on the high side. All-in-all, probably the best place to enjoy Memphis.

I took my mother on vacation to Memphis for her birthday for a week, I was not impressed with the room, we had an ok view of Union Ave, the carpet by the bathroom was frayed and ripped and their wireless internet, did not work, ON SAT NIGHT IT GOT WORSE WE CAME BACK TO OUR ROOM AND I FOUND A COCKROACH IN OUR BATHROOM, called the front desk told them we want to be moved, Hotel is full can't move you. Don't offer to come and spray, well then at 1:00 a.m. I got back into the bathroom COCKROACH # 2, I kill it, and now I am not sleeping, no one available to do anything for us, that morning, at 6:00 am COCKROACH # 3 that was it I go to the front desk, can't move you until NOON, ok so they spray the bathroom, now we have to go through all of our stuff, they comp our breakfast, which I was not hungry after killing 3 COCKROACHES, then they move us up 2 floors and to the opposite end of the hotel. Now no bugs but the hairdryer and plug in the bathroom doesn't work. and our view was of the other building. It was noisy and the drinks were over priced, they DID NOT COMP OUR ROOM FOR THE NIGHT OF THE COCKROACHES, THEY TOOK 80.00 OFF THAT IS IT! WILL NEVER STAY THEIR AGAIN!!!!
