This is a great hotel, located out of the main town, situated on a little slope. Because of its location, it is quiet and tranquil although it is not easily reached from the Hauptbahnhof. We were driving so we did not have this problem. The directions, through the town, to the hotel were clear.
The hotel itself has been renovated and therefore, the rooms, restaurant, reception area were great. The room we had faced the town and thus afforded us a fantastic view of the Dolomiti. We had a balcony, or rather our section of the balcony had been made separate, moreover private from the other adjoining rooms. We didn't have time to use the sauna but i'm sure it would have been spotlessly clean, like the rest of the hotel.
We had dinner in the restaurant. It was very wet, but despite this, we sat outside on the terrasse which was well covered by modern awnings. The food was magic and well priced. In particular, the Salzburger Nockerl for dessert won me! The food, dessert finished with a glass of schnaps made at the hotel (they brew their own beer too!), this was a perfect dinner.
The hotel has a history and on one particular wall near the restaurent, there are many old photos of the building. Some of the photos show fruit trees in front of it. I am happy so that there are still fruit trees in front of the hotel and a long sloping meadow (which hopefully belongs to the hotel, meaning that they will not be 'built out' in the foreseeable future) before you get to some of the more modern houses on the outskirts of the town.
We were so impressed by this family run hotel because it offered double the cleanliness, triple the tranquility, and quadruple the quality for only €2 more ( €102) than the 'poor' hotel, where we had spent three nights in Zell am See.
All in all, a wonderful place to stay and it is a pity we could only stay for one night.

Nice, quiet location. Truely stunning views of the dolomites greet you at breakfast. Friendly staff, basic but clean accomodation, good breakfast offer. Easy walk to town. A simple but nice hotel with a authentically 'Austrian' feel.
