The rooms are big, and neat. They even provide fruit for guests. It is a good swimming area, but I wish the swimming poor was indoor. It was a little bit too sunny in the summer, and easy to get tan.

I stayed in this hotel from 2/8/2008 to 2/10/2008. The hotel has a lobby which may be equivalent to a 3-4 stars hotel but the room is like a 2 star hotel. The picture of the villa looks good on internet but is completely different when you arrive. The villa is quite a distance form the main building and you need to take a van ride from the main building to the villa room. It is extremely inconvenience if you stay in the villa. The internet does not work. The room thermostat can not be adjusted because the heating is controlled by the hotel perhaps to save the electricity. The hotel is dishonest in charging the room rate. I made my reservation in RMB and charge it to my credit card. The hotel converted the RMB based on its own exchange rate to US dollar and charge me US$ on my credit card to make another ~10% on the exchange rate. What they do is quote the room rate and with confirmed reservation in RMB. When you pay with your credit card, they will show the charge in RMB as in the confirm reservation but with the small tiny print at the end of the charge slip indicate they will convert the RMB to US$ with their own exchange rate. If you think it is the bank who is charging a ridiculous exchange rate on you when you receive the bill from your bank, it is not. It is the hotel who is making a few extra $. With almost US$80 /night, you can find a real good /honest hotel in Zhuhai than stay in this hotel. On top of it, I called the hotel management and inform displeasure about their practice making profit from the exchange rate after I receive my credit card bill. The manager promised looking into this and call me back. They never did.

This is classed as a 5 star hotel, and although some aspects of it are of a high level, i feel that by international standards a 3 + is more accurate. Ive stayed in dozens of Chinese hotels over the last few years (I live in London) and have never encountered such a good breakfast anywhere else, it seems unimportant, but when you travel as much as me in China a good breakfast is worth its weight in gold! Good bread, fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, chinese cuisine and good coffee. It also has some of the most well trained and attentive staff I have encountered, In the summer it attracts many students from the local hotel-management schools, and they are eager to please and try out their english! Its a HUGE hotel, with a large main building and dozens of villa style houses, which are cheaper for group bookings. It sports a huge swimming pool (which unfortunately is maintained at 30 degrees celcius, even in summer!) tennis courts, boating and fishing lake, and its own free internal bus service. I stayed in a little villa room (two single beds in one room), price RMB 260, which included free internet connection. Rooms were acceptable, fairly clean, and good size. The restaurant is very good (for a chinese hotel restaurant) and offers good quality Italian, French and Chinese dishes for a decent price (20-60RMB), and also a some French white and red wines (just DONT order the pizza, which is wierd!). Its a short cab ride from the Macau boarder and also close to the sea and main shopping district. Its a good place to take a family because it offers lots of internal entertainment, but also just fine for a solo traveller like me. A little Cantoneese or Manderin will always help, but here the staff are patient and hard working, and you will always get what you want eventually. Recomended !
