Normally i like to book my hotels before i go but this time i decided to find one on the spot. Bad choice - most hotels were fully booked and this was one of the few options left.
Not a nice place. First off, the hotel dates from 1966 and it looks like nothing has been done to maintain it since. What suprised me the most is that i had to pay 1.000 baht (25 euros) deposit for the keyroom! I have never ever experienced this before and i found it quite rude - the hotel isnt cheap so i expect not to be treated like some crook who's planning to take a louzy key!
Pro is its proximity to Pat Pong nightmarket - the place to go for night shopping, that's if you can deal with the numerous gogo bars around it.

First off, the location is terrible. We had to walk a distance to get to the BTS (Sky Train) and to the pier. The room is acceptable for a budget hotel but the staff are extremely calculative when it comes to asking for more water/towels. You won't get much sleep if you're a light sleeper as the walls are surprisingly thin and you can hear the constant traffic. To top it off, the staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Do not book a tour with the agents in the office; among other things, our van driver had no driver's license!

The Good: Very clean, excellent maid service. The Bad: My television
only had three working channels and the pool was tiny and located behind a glass window in the lobby so leering businessmen could watch you swim.
The Ugly: I was told the room included two free bottles of water a day, but when I went to check out I was given a bill for all the water I drank, even though it did not exceed the 2 daily bottles. The clerk then produced two different bottles from behind the counter and said "This one is free and this other one isn't" This was the first time she had mentioned this, yet she swore she told me upon check in. The staff refused to return my hefty key deposit until I had paid for all the overpriced water.

1. Hotel is in need of renovation. My room wasn't clean and was very dusty [especially underneath the bed].
2. Most disturbing was the concierge. I recognise the story below very well. Everytime he saw our face he came pushing us into booking trips and things ...........Not in a nice way ....
3. Breakfast was Ok
4. Before checking inn the receptionist asked us 1000 B deposit [ Never ever experienced something like that] As if we would want to steal something out their crapy room. We refused to pay the 1000 B
5. The swimmingpool is a joke and doesn't look like the pictures on the net at all.
6.The next morning we couldn't get away fast enough. The neighbourhood is very convient and entertaining ..... but there are better options than manohra

we stopped at this hotel for approximately 4 night and having booked it before arrival could not leave on an earlier date. the hotel was very basic quiet clean but in need of renovation. on the first night i saw a massive cockroach running across the bedside table which was disturbing, as it got away before i could kill it ,and unfortunately saw it the following few nights also. There is little to say about this hotel except it was cheap and conveniently located.
the rooms we had were right near to the expressway and to get asleep was an impossible senario.
the taxi staff by the entrance continually harrass you constantly and we got to the stage where we used the side entrance as they would not except that we did not want the taxi service.
worst of all was the concierge who was continually telling us to go such a place, and on such a trip, in the hope of gaining commission from the taxi touts. on the last day the consierge was very agressive demanding the key, which i already had placed in reception, and i repeatedly told him that i had not got the key ,which almost ended in us coming to blows as he was so nasty, and was a terrible guy, whom should have not been in the job position that he had.
on leaving the hotel he made a sarcastic comment that he hoped not to see us again, and i think he definately will not as i would not stop there ever again.
