Good location for this hotel becuse it's just near the skytrain station and near the commercial city center.
Hotel is nice, and cheaper. Good breakfast, there is a pool, a small spa, not very nice furnishing but it's ok for the price and the location.
People are working there are not very kindly and not very helpful if you need information to go around and away from Bangkok.

Stayed for one night in the cheapest room, the cabin room (view of a brick wall). Staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is great with the skytrain just outside. The decor is in need of updating and the cleaniness of the room was questionable. But for ?30 between us three clubbers, it was a bargin!

I've never written a hotel review before and would have been ready to commend the Asia Hotel on being simple but ok for the price given the very handy location for getting about.
However...while I was there (for 5 nights, 2 days ago) I woke up with a couple of bites. I really thought nothing of them at the time - just a rogue, air-conditioning loving mossie? Something you just have to put up with in Thailand? However, by the time I arrived at the airport to fly out, I was already feeling itchiness across my back and shoulders. Today (two days on) I seriously have about 40 hugely itchy and pretty sizeable red blothes across my arms, legs, back and even a couple on my neck and face. Have looked it up and apparently quite normal for bed bug bites to take a few days to show - so that's what it must have been. So incredibly p!ssed off, especially given all the previous posters (that I hadn't checked beforehand) that must have informed the hotel.
So given the frame of mind I'm in now, I'll unobjectively focus on the negatives. The bath had mould around the seams. The staff were rather surly. The organist played 80s favourites like kylie minogue's 'locomotion' through dinner - not my bag - maybe yours though? The pools are too small to actually swim properly in. The hotel taxi I had organised the day before didn't turn up so I hailed one from the street (a cheaper move in retrospect).
Despite all that it generally did have an ok vibe if you don't mind being transported back to the 70's, but ultimately it's a damn hotel - for sleeping in - so eliminating bed bugs surely have to be top priority number.
Sorry for the rant - just incredibly annoyed.

This was my second stay at the Asia. I agree with a previous review the check in process is long i also found the receptionist not overly helpful. The rooms are basic and the views were awful but the location is great as the skytrain has a station almost in the hotel on the 1st floor. Both of the pools were clean and the poolside service was good. I would recommend this hotel for its location as its very close to the MBK shopping centre and easy to get anywhere.
