My Mom and I stayed at the Cordial Theater Hotel for one night. We found that it was above our expectations! Our room was not just a room, but instead a suite complete with kitchenette. There was a small stove, sink, refrigerator, etc., and a separate living area, bathroom, and sleeping area. We were very impressed by how spacious the room was. The hotel was in a great location, very close (within five minutes walking) of restaurants, shops, etc. There was also free internet in the lobby, and the ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful. Breakfast was included in our rate, and was a nice spread of both hot and cold items. We had a great experience with this hotel and would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed our stay here, the room was spacious, as was the bathroom. The location was good, close to the centre, and the train station. And the brekky was nice.
There were two main English channels - MTV and CNN. If you are looking for decent comfort, good service in a reasonable four star, then this place comes recommended. It was nice for a break and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

We stayed in the Cordial Theaterhotel for two nights during our honeymoon. The front desk staff is very helpful and assisted us in booking a day trip to the Ice Caves of Eisreisenwelt. The hotel is not exactly in the center of the action, but is only a 8-10 minute walk to the Old Town. However, the pedestrian area leading to the Old Town that is loaded with shops and restaurants begins only two blocks from the hotel so the walk seems much shorter.
The room itself was a good size, plenty of room to spread our luggage out. The bathroom was nice although the shower stall was a bit of a tight squeeze.
In the lobby, the hotel provides a computer with internet access for their guests to use free of charge, this was a GREAT feature!
Breakfast was good, plenty of options to choose from, though not a great breakfast. I was always satisfied when I finished eating.
My only complaint would be that the directions I received to the hotel from the main train station were inadequate at best. I would recommend just paying the money for a taxi. We took the bus and it takes you in a long loop before heading in the right direction of the hotel and then you have to transfer busses before walking another 4 blocks to the hotel. Taxi was only like 9 euro, and the bus cost us about 2.50 euro. Take the taxi!

Really not sure how to review this place! I'll start with the good points. The room was spacious and quiet (so long as the window was closed) and the general decor throughout the hotel is good. The reception staff couldn't have been nicer, the breakfast is adequate and the mini-bar reasonably priced. It's an easy walk to the main sites and shopping areas but far enough away from the bulk of the tourists to give the hotel a peaceful air, despite the busy road outside. There's also a bus stop just a block away where you can catch the number 4 bus across to the Old Town if you don't fancy the 10 minute walk; this bus also takes you to the Mirabellplatz stop where you can connect to the buses taking you to the Airport, train station, Hangar 7 (all bus number 2), the Zoo, Hellbrun Palace and the Untersberg cable car (all bus number 25).
BUT! As previous reviewers have mentioned, the shower stall really is
tiny - combine this with the fact that you have to hold the shower head to wash and it's not a relaxing experience. The space around the
toilet is quite tight too. Also, although I can generally sleep anywhere the bed was rather hard and I don't think I had a proper nights sleep the whole time I was there. These points might seem minor but they really did have an impact on my stay; although I booked the hotel as a 2-star (it's rated as a 4-star on many booking sites) I was still disappointed.

We were very nicely suprised when we arrived at the hotel as it was so cheap. The lobby was lovely and clean as was the adjoining bar area. The room we had was spotless and very comfortable. The staff were so helpful too. Breakfast was lovely and the lovely weather meant we could have breakfast on the patio. We were attending a conference whilst in Salzburg and the hotel was a 10 minute walk to the conference centre. Brilliant.
