We stayed at this hotel for one night after getting a late flight into Stuttgart, arriving at the hotel at approx 0100h. The reception is manned until 0300h so this wasn't a problem. We paid 45 Euro for a double room with shared facilities, the facilities were clean throughout. Breakfast was served from 0645h until 1000h, the usual continental breakfast which was well presented and fresh.
The hotel is a five minute walk to the main station. We stayed here due to cost and distance from the station, and were happy with both. There are other hotels closer, but you'd pay more. We could leave our luggage here for the day while we toured Stuttgart, before collecting the bags and leaving.
As an aside, we booked this on the Stuttgart tourist information website, which was very informative I thought

Staying there during the holiday fair, prices went up to 79 Euro - for a single room in the attic. Staff told me before, that shower was only available outside the room. I agreed, knowing that this time is quite busy and I stayed only for a night. Arriving at 9 p.m. I discovered, that toilet was out side the room as well. The room was tiny, old furniture, kind of gross&greasy carpet and atmosphere, a folded spare bed was squeezed in as well, there were wires hanging out of a hole, no dustbin, no bedside lamp nor an opaque curtain, for getting washed unobserved at the washing basin in the room....as it was rather late and me quite tired I did not change. Later I heard, that a friend stayed at the same time in the center of the city, in a much better place for less money - so it is worthwhile - even in times of a fair - to have a closer look at other hotels! The location close to the station has to be reconsidered as well - because the straightest way up there leads through an area and steps I do not really want to walk alone in the night...Superfluous to say that, beside a very young lady whohad evening shift when I arrived, the other 2 staff members I met were rather unfriendly.
Concludingly - the worst-price-performance ratio I ever encountered.

My mother and I stayed here one night in the summer because we had a flight from Stuttgart airport to Bologna. Hotel Mack was okay. It was close and convienient to the train station but more difficult to find than the website indicates.
We booked through the Stuttgart Tourist office and ended up getting a room for 39 Euro/night. Downside to that was the room was in the basement, really old and outdated, and kind of gross.
Breakfast buffet in the morning was great, though.
