Overpriced average hotel mainly visited by tourist groups.
One star for the scam we experienced when ordering a taxi for the airport. The reception desk booked a private chauffeur service which cost 50% more than a normal taxi.
Worse than a youth hostel

I went on a "first class" five country tour of Central and Eastern Europe. The accomodations were actually very good in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Germany. I was shocked at the poor accomodations at the Austria Trend Ananas in Vienna. My single room was smaller and dirtier than the youth hostels I stayed at in Amsterdam and Berlin 10 years ago. I don't even think the room would be fit for a college dormatory. The carpet was filthy and the shower had visible stains between the tiles. After walking for what seemed like forever from the elevator to my room, I learned that the first key card they gave me didn't work. I had to travel back to the lobby and they provided me TWO new key cards - only one of which actually worked.
Since I stayed here as part of a tour, I had no choice. If you have a choice, DO NOT spend your money on this DUMP!

Good things: location (underground station just opposite the hotel / Linie U4), breakfast (fresh and various), clean rooms;
Bad things: very small room and shower cabin, quite basic for the money we paid (120,- EUR for a double), staff not friendly enough;
Would not stay here again.

When I read the previous reviews I was scared that I will end up in the worst hotel ever, but I was surprised the second I entered the reception. It was 5 min till I got to the room (the receptionist spoke English) , the room was very good, and equipped with the necessary things. It was a very clean room with very soft bed linen. The breakfast was really good, great choice of food, fruit.
I didn't try any service from the hotel, but I would recommend this hotel and would go there again if I have a chance.

I have stayed in many four star hotels and this was not one of them, now i know that a four star in europe is like a 3 star in ireland, but i would just like to point out a few things.
The rooms were far too small, one pillow per bed not exceptable, bed were absolutely tiny. There was no shower caps and the shampoo was body wash as well.
Some of the staff in the Restaurant could not speak english which posed a problem for other guests i have a little German so i could get by at least. The food was very nice and cheap as well.
The location was superb right beside the Metro station.
So if you are looking for a nice 4 star hotel....i advise to go 5 star because this was not a 4 star hotel. Its very basic.
