this is a true gem. it's a very modern hotel, with big rooms/bathrooms, super modern furniture and high tech, modern design and very clean. the hotel is not located in the old town, but with the tram in less then 5 min you are there. it's across the river from a fantastic museum and from there you can go to the Vitra Museum and the Bayerly foundation with public transportation very easily. the staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful. our rooms were on the main street, but you could not hear the traffic. very quiet and clean. and for a very good price. the breakfast was good and the hotel personnel was very nice and helpful. we will def recommend this place

What a super place! I'm sure the location of this hotel puts many people off staying as it is right on the edge of the city and only 20 metres from a major highway. However, PLEASE don't let this put you off. As the weather was good on my arrival into Basel, I walked from the central railway station, a journey of less than 20 minutes. There is also a tram stop located right outside the hotel if you prefer public transport... trams are cheap and frequent in Basel. In fact, once you've checked into the hotel you'll get a free pass for public transport around the city. As far as traffic noise is concerned I was completely amazed that I couldn't hear ANY traffic noise at all from inside the hotel. The sound-proofing is amazing. This hotel really is excellent. It is very modern and perhaps some might complain that is lacks character. But I was impressed with the sense of space. My room was enormous and had plenty of space even though it actually had three beds! The design was a little unusual, having a sliding wall to shut off the bathroom. In fact I thought at first the bathroom and bedroom was completely "open-plan" and it wasn't until my second day that I realised the bathroom could be shut off from the rest of the room!! I had no complaints at all about my room. I had free wired internet service which was running at 100 Mb/sec... fast enough to use a web-cam on a video-call back home! Breakfast was great. The service from the staff was absolutely fantastic... extremely helpful. What makes this hotel extra special is that the hotel was opened as a place of work and training for people with mild learning or physical disabilities. To be honest, I couldn't really tell. Highly recommended.

A modern design hotel, not in the center of the city, but easily reachable by tramway (and a direct bus to the Messe). What makes this hotel fantastic is the mix between the excellent room quality and the fact that it is also maintainted by handicapped people. What a pleasure to know that you don't only spend a good night but that this hotel also makes you a good citizen, this hotel makes you feel good! Friendly and personal - my favourite :-)

I stayed in this hotel for one night during a business trip. The hotel is centrally located with a tram station directly opposite the entrance. A tram ride to the heart of the city takes approx. 10 minutes and trams depart approx. every 15 minutes until very late night. Upon arrival at the hotel I was provided with a free public transport pass for all buses and trams for the time of my stay, which was fantastic but I am not sure whether this is always included in the room fare. The hotel is newly opened (about 1,5 years ago) and therefore the hotel and the rooms are in extremely good condition (very nice beds, flatscreen TV, spacious bath, ... ). The hotel interior and rooms are held in a very modern, clear and functional design. Free internet access is available in all rooms. The staff are very, very helpful and so friendly. The fact that this hotel offers work-places for many people with disabilities should also be considered very positively. The way that people with and without disabilities work together in this hotel is remarkable. Lastly I need to mention the very generous breakfast which is highly above average compared with hotels of the same category. This hotel can be highly recommended!
