Excellent property at a great price for the summer. Construction has a minimal impact. I agree with the positive comments and most of the details in the recent reviews below.

This was a great hotel with a cozy feel. A bargin for us at eighty five dollars a night. The resort fee is ok and expected as we read about that prior. We used the wi fi in our room and the business center computers frequently. Our reservations requested a recently renovated King room and was impressed by it's amenities, decor and overall feel. Some areas of property are under construction but hardly a problem for the typical traveler. Staff was very nice and always attentive around hotel grounds. Views off the moutains are fantastic.. Golf course looked amazing, but I did get a chance to play. We are part of the Omni select program so I am not sure if turn down service or chocolates at night was standard things to expect. The program is free to sign up and worth it for the free morning beverages and reduced in room food options. Actually wished other hotels were as friendly as the folks there at the Omni National. I would book again if ever staying in Tucson.

The OMNI is still under construction, but despite that, it's still a beautiful property.
The staff is wonderful, the new rooms are gorgeous, and the golf course is great. In early April, the lobby area was a makeshift desk and only one restaurant was open, but it was still fine. Especially because the construction will get you a great rate on a beautiful place. Now is the time to visit. Just know that you do have to be a bit patient and open-minded, but I still thought I got the better end of the deal.
(My only complaint was the exercise facility. It may eventually be part of the upgrades, but right now it's a room full of old, sad equipment.)

We booked this through Priceline. It was $110, plus when we got there they charged us an extra $13 resort fee.
The resort is under construction and is a total mess. Dust flying everywhere and noise. The bathroom was very nice. The sleeping room was very dark and the mattress and pillow were horrible. Old and lumpy! My husband could not sleep!
Starbucks coffee was 4.00 a cup. We tried to sit out on the patio, but the chairs were OLD and full of ground in dirt and I could not get them to clean up. So, much for that idea! They did have apples out at the reception desk, however I had two and both were mushy.
2 pools. One finishe-- nice, but nothing special.
The other one on the far side is a total mess. The facilities at that old pool are very poor. The bathrooms were dark, dirty and scary!
I think we got ripped off. We were charged a resort fee, with no resort! If you played golf and loved the course, maybe, but only if you want to get up early to play. We did not use the spa.
Overall the staff was somewhat friendly, but again nothing special and they could use some tips from the Marriott resort staff (which was where we stayed for 3 nights prior).

We stayed at the Omni National Golf Resort and Spa for a long weekend from March 13th through the 16th.
Check-in was extremely convenient as I had taken advantage of the option to "pre/check-in" on the internet. We arrived on a late flight from Chicago that Thursday and appreciated the night manager meeting us at our vehicle with the room keys and our check-in material.
Most of the rooms are grouped in free-standing "casitas" with views of the golf course, mountains, etc. These casitas are one-story only so that each has a covered patio out back. Ours had a view of a large pond populated by assorted waterfowl and the golf course framed by the mountains.
You drive to your casita and park outside. There was plenty of convenient parking.
The room was large with high ceilings, a king bed, walk-in closet, double sink/vanity and a separate room with the bath and toilet. The bed linens were frankly a little courser than we had expected and the matress probably needed to be replaced. But these casitas are on track to be renovated, so I'm sure all will change in the next few months...like a flat screen TV to replace the aging tube model.
I had joined Omni's affinity club (free online) and we received several perks. When we arrived, a fruit and cheese basket was on the table along with a bottle of wine...very nice, since it was around midnight when we finally got settled and we really wanted a little something on which to "nosh".
Additionally, we received a small "menu" to hang on the door knob outside the room every night requesting complimentary coffee and juice. (You could also order bagels, pastries, etc at a cost.) And every morning, at the time you chose, there would be a knock at the door and a tray with a thermos carafe of coffee and 2 large glasses of juice was left there for us. We would take it all to the patio in our robes (provided) and enjoy while watching the ducks in the pond (buy bread to feed) and reading the paper. Very nice.
The A/C didn't work the first night which, because of the cool evenings, didn't affect our sleep. But we reported it the next day and an engineer was dispatched straight away. When the problem couldn't be fixed...and after a bit of negotiation...we were offerred a suite with about the same view. We accepted the option.
The suite was very large with a fireplace, kitchen with table/chairs, double sink dressing area, another separate sink/tub/toilet in a separate room and a very large walk in closet. The only odd thing was that we couldn't find a chest of drawers in which to store our clothes!!! We ended up just putting our foldables on the closet shelves.
And that summed up our experience. This resort was built in the 60s and shows it's age. It is being renovated piece by piece, but it's not quite there yet. Give it 6 months to a year and it'll be a really great place for a getaway in the Spring.
In the interim, give them high marks for the effort. Everyone we met was gracious and accomodating with only one exception. And that was in the only restaurant that was open.
(The rest of the eateries were closed for renovation.)
The young lady running the bar area was just plain unhappy and bordered on being misanthropic. We ate dinner there late the second night and the experience was not what you would expect from this type of establishment. Do yourself a favor and eat at any one of the excellent restaurants in the surrounding area or in downtown Tucson.
Other than that, it was a delightful break for all of us pale-skinned Midwesterners who needed a little sunshine and a Sox v Cubs game (Sox won, 5 to 3) to take our minds off the incredibly nasty winter we had had this year.
Bottom line...We'd return again. But AFTER the renovations and hopefully with more dining choices on site.
And be sure to join the Omni affinity club on their website before making your reservation. It really enhanced our experience and it's literally free for the asking.
