My family and I stayed at the Omni during the 4th of July weekend. We came to go to the Aquarium and were able to get a really good package deal through the hotel that included tickets and breakfast buffets at their Prime Meridian restaurant which was wonderful! The Omni is in a very convenient location to the Aquarium, Centennial Park, and many other attractions in the downtown area. It also adjoined to the CNN Center which has a food court on the first floor along with various shops. The Omni was very luxurious. We didn't particularly care for the $30 valet parking, but this was our only option. We had some time after visiting the aquarium before supper and the fireworks show at Centennial Park , so my children and I were able to lounge and take naps in our room. It was nice to be able to be as comfortable as we would have been at home. Our room was very clean. The Omni was hit by a tornado in March and there is construction still taking place, but this in no way affected our stay. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Be sure to sign up for their Select Guest program. It's free and it comes with lots of perks including free high speed wireless internet and complimentary beverages before breakfast. We requested an early check-in of 1:00 p.m. and our room was ready. As a tip, if you can, carry your own luggage without help because the person who only got our bags out of our car practically begged for a really nice tip. I, of course, tipped him, but I think he expected more. For the Georgia Aquarium, it was a bit of a disappointment. Since it is the largest aquarium in the world, I expected it to be grand. We have been to the aquariums in Chattanooga and Gatlinburg and they are much better. Our children seemed to enjoy the Georgia Aquarium, though. The Centennial Park and the Fountain of Rings were really nice. We walked through again the morning after the fireworks show the night before and it was much nicer without all the crowds. I highly recommend the Omni. It was very nice, very clean, and the best part of our trip.

My husband and I went to Atlanta to see REM (a birthday gift from my parents). I chose the Omni because we were flying in and I didn't want to rent a car (I believe in public transportation when available + the cost of parking anywhere in Atlanta is really ridiculous). The Omni was extremely convenient to the MARTA (which is really the easiest way to get around Atlanta - that and your two legs!) and the attractions we were interested in visiting, namely the Georgia Aquarium. The staff was so friendly and helpful and I booked our room right through the website so I was able to get an excellent deal that included breakfast (phenomenal) and tickets to the Aquarium. I agree with over reviews that the beds left a little to be desired as they were quite hard (I don't really care for hard beds myself). I did not have any problems with the pillows being "flat" or "thin" as others have commented. Overall, an excellent experience that I would definitely do again!

My mom and I stayed at the Omni for a 1 1/2 day Christian Women's conference held at the Phillips Arena. I read some of the mixed reviews before we went, so I prepared myself for some of the problems that were mentioned. I knew the hotel was sold out so I was expecting a wait for bellman, valet parking, elevators, etc. Was pleasantly surprised that we had no problems. The hotel was beautiful. Very clean. And they gave us plenty of towels!
The service was wonderful. Bellman took our luggage to our room immediately upon arrival.
The hotel was adjoined to the CNN center and the Phillips arena. We didn't even have to go outside to enter the Phillips arena. There is a food court, restaurants and shops in the Phillips arena.
The hotel was very upscale. We had a convention rate of $165, which was very reasonable for a hotel of this caliber. When we left I was expecting to wait a long time for our luggage and car. We were pleasantly surprised. The event ended at 5:30 PM and were on the road by 6:00 PM.
I don't know if it is southern thing or what, but they have much better service than the upscale hotels in Washington, DC we have stayed at during events -(we have paid much more money, and then had lousy service, not enough towels and hour and 1/2 wait for our car and luggage numerous times in DC.)
We only had one problem - with our bill; they charged us twice for the $30 a night valet parking fee. When I called the front desk they immediately admitted the mistake and credited our bill.

Atlanta was hit by a tornado in March of 2008. The hotel still has broken windows in it in June, some room are unrentable. The staff was very nice, but repairs are going on all around you. Their swimming pool was not ready and it sounded like it may not be ready for some time. The bedspread had a burn hole in it in a non-smoking room. The North tower had many broken windows. Not a 4 star Hotel anymore maybe one again but not this year.

My husband and I stayed one night here in order to go to a concert at the Philips Arena, which is adjoined to the Omni. Everything went smoothly at check-in. The front desk was also very accomodating with our preference of a high floor. We originally were booked for the 9th floor but they moved us to the 23rd without hesitation. The required $30 valet parking was not pleasing but we dealt. It was worth not having to fight public parking and walking in order to go to the concert. Our room was nice. The only complaint was that the air could have worked a little better. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a granite sink, very nice. The high floor was definitely the way to go because it was quiet. The food court was convenient to the Philips Arena so we got a little bite to eat and drink pre-concert. I will definitely stay there again for future concerts. It makes it real nice to be able to walk straight from the concert to the hotel in air condition!
