Great place to stay in Richmond

You couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Richmond. The room was perfect. The location is ideal for someone visiting Richmond. It's at the top of Shockoe Slip. There are numerous restaurants in Shockoe Slip and Shockoe Bottom. The business district which is a block uphill from the Omni pretty much shuts down after 6 and on weekends, so heading that way can be pretty quiet. This is my hotel of choice for Richmond. Book with confidence.

I stayed at the Omni Richmond for one night on a business trip. I found a clipped toenail in my bed that was not my own.
Great Service - some issues

The service was outstanding. It appears that every employee knows what customer service is. The actual property needs work however.
Location - convenient to everything.
Valet - Quick and efficient.
Restaurant - Breakfast buffet was fine. Friendly staff.
The major issue is cleanliness. The entire hotel needs to be thoroughly cleaned.
- Bathroom: Handprints all over the front and back of the door. The shower/tub is outdated and had stains, marks, and chips all over it. The front of the sink had stains and scratches all over it. The wallpaper in the bathroom was falling off the wall. Stains were on the bathroom ceiling. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall.
- Room: The bed was fairly comfortable. The bed linens were dirty. Stains were clearly visible on the comforter and throw pillows. The ceiling had stains all over it. Even though it was a non-smoking room, it was clearly evident that someone had previously smoked in it. The TV needs to be updated.
- Pool: The pool house needs major work. Everything was extremely dirty. The soles of my feet were black after walking on the dirty tile to get into the pool. The patio area was not properly set up. Chairs were just thrown everywhere - some even turned upside down and broken.
Overall, I still would probably stay at this property again because of the outstanding customer service.

Stayed at the Richmond Omni in March of 2007, night before a 10k run that I do each year.
The hotel is one of two reasonably upscale large hotels in downtown Richmond, the other being the Crowne Plaze.
The hotel is reasonably nice, with good service. We had a nice corner room, reasonably large, with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. The hotel is overall clean with a lot of amenities.
Wife and I would stay here again. Four stars.

We had a great stay here, and while not inexpensive the value is still very good. The staff was very helpful and courteous, and the rooms were comfortable.
Only (very minor) complaints were the poor picture quality on the tv, and a drippy shower. Otherwise a great hotel.
