I stayed in this hotel for my birthday. It was really amazing. We had a junior suite, and it was very big and wonderful. It is in a very great location in downtown Charlotte. Lots to do! The staff is amazing! I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and Im sure that i will go back!!!

Stayed 4 nights in late December. The OMNI Charlotte has an unbeatable location in downtown Charlotte. Everything is nearby, within walking distance. Our room was ok, but a bit "old". My guess is some of the rooms had been renovated, but not ours. Hotel was 100% full because of the College Football Bowl Game, but the staff did not seem overwhelmed. Great lobby area as it is adjacent to another building and a few shops.

The Omni is located in positon A+ for activities in downtown Charlotte. It is next to the Bank of America complex, a block from Bobcats arena and many restaurants are within a 2 - 3 block walking distance. All in all the hotel is OK, but know that there are some major drawbacks. The hotel restaurant is dark, dingy, small and terribly expensive. Come on Omni, make some effort to make this miserable spot more attractive. The sink in the bathroom is "stand alone" -- no place to put your toiletries; however they do provide a small stand on the other side of the bathroom. When attending an event at Bobcats arena, the hotel elevators are overwhelmed before and after the event -- wait time can exceed 10 minutes. Overall, this is an OK property, but it is showing signs of age.

My boyfriend took me to this hotel as part of a weekend getaway for my birthday. I was so excited because I heard great things about Omni Hotels and I was really looking forward to my visit. To start off, the hotel itself was very nice and well kept. The staff was extremely nice. We stayed in a king size executive suite. The first thing I noticed was that the toilet was not clean. The toilet seat looked as if it had urine specks on the seat and maybe housekeeping sprayed it down but didn't WIPE it clean. We went down to the restaurant for dinner. We noticed the glass above the buffet was dusty. I didn't seem understand how a place where food is kept and used on a regular basis could have dust on it, but oh well??? My food was not good! The bread on my sandwich was very stale but I didn't have any problems changing my order. When we returned to our room, I went into the bathroom and saw a big ROACH in the tub. To top that off, while lying in that nice big king size bed, I kept smelling something weird when I would turn my face into the pillows. It's apparent that the pillow covers for the accent pillows had not been washed/changed because I could smell another person's saliva on the pillow (I almost threw up!). By this time I was extremely disgusted!!! We stripped the bed of the comforter and extra pillows and only used the ones that "seemed" to be clean and hopefully were changed. Last ,but not least, breakfast was another horror. After dinner the night before, I really didn't want to eat anymore food there, but my boyfriend insisted that we gave it another try. My order was screwed up again and while eating my grits, I bit into something white that appeared to be a piece of a paper napkin or at least that's what i'm hoping it was. Needless to say, I was very very disappointed. I don't usually write reviews but I definitely utilize them to help make my decisions on hotels. I plan on giving my boyfriend a chance to contact Omni about our stay but I had to let others know about my visit. Maybe "I" had a bad night and for others it was better. Personally, I don't ever plan on making a return visit!
