Stayed here for 1 night on a visit to Leicester, it's not right in the town centre but it's within 5mins walking distance.
The staff were very friendly, and the rooms clean and nice. Although the hotel bar wasn't open after 11pm we could still purchase fizzy drinks and snacks from it after hours due to the helpful lady at the front desk.
The carpark is a nightmere to find how to get into, but once in there are plenty of spaces.
Would recommend for a budget hotel

pre-booked a room.the area is abit rough, well secured with gates and electric door.we arrived 1am in the check time from 2pm onwards.the receptonist was quite rude as she was acting like a mother telling us off for our late arrival quite odd.
the room were slightly on the small side but clean.around 7am was woken by a maid asking if we had any dirty towels.1 hour later same maid banged on the door asking what time we were planning to check out.oh no it doesnt stop there... another hour later the same maid knocked on the door and for the 2nd time asked if we had any dirty towels.

We stayed at this hotel as a friend in Leicester said it was central, etc, and it was the cheapest.
We got there, and found that it's in a rather dodgy area, with no other restaurants, etc. nearby.
While we were checking in, the receptionist was very rude to a guest on the phone! we were kinda scared of even looking at her the wrong way!
We requested a room facing the car park, as street-facing rooms are noisy.
The room had absolutely no ventilation! The one little window didn't open, and the receptionist said that it was a security measure for those on the 3rd floor (the receptionist the following day said that it was actually not so, and they could fix it).
There's no airconditioning - for Leicester in the summer... it was unbearable.
The bed was lumpy - mattress felt like it was 40 years old.
After a terribly restless night, we decided to move to the Hotel Ibis.
It's a few minutes by car from the Campanile, but can more rightly claim to be central. The Gransby Street - with excellent restaurants (we particularly loved the Halli restaurant - south Indian vegetarian as it was spotlessly clean, with delicious food!) just nearby.
Also the Campanile kitchen closes around 930pm or so... we got there just after 10pm, so we had to starve. (walked around looking for a decent place to eat... but it's a nasty neighbourhood).
At the Hotel Ibis there is food available 24 hours, all rooms have air-conditioning, and there is Internet available (wireless and a computer available on the ground floor). The rooms are well insulated, so there's no traffic noise.
Regarding the rooms - they're clean, comfortable and the bathroom is very well appointed.
More than anything - the staff are amazing, compared to Campanile.
So... don't even think of staying at the Campanile unless someone else is paying, and you really have to.

Clean, modern and well placed for driving into from the inner ring road,
Suggest requesting a room on car park side as traffic noise on St Matthews way was loud even on a Bank holiday Sunday.
Not a great area to wander around in as Victoria park is on the other side of town and a nicer place to stay.
