Ideal location - 10min walk from Eiffel Tower & u can genuinely see it from the street (I thought the pic must have been a photoshop effort!) Some small restaurants around where you can eat well for not too much. Budget hotel, so rooms are basic, but clean... possibly the smallest double bed I have seen! But hey, it was still a comfortable sleep.
Booked this through Opodo & it included breakfast - they tried to argue that my booking didnt at reception, but if you persist (and point to the Terms & Conditions on your booking conf.) you'll get it! Basic continental breakfast buffet, but good enough to start off the day.
Cant complain - cheap sleep perfectly located to explore the city.

my 2 friends and I booked a long weekend through Eurostar and I have to say that we were really impressed with the hotel and the staff that were on duty during our stay. The room was a triple bed en suite and was completely adequate for our needs. It was clean and we had fresh towels every day.Plenty to see and do reasonably close and if you like the metro then the Paris is easily accesible. If you want to go up the Eiffel Tower please make sure you go either very early or very late as the queues build up very quickly during the day. There is a large market on Sunday just a few minutes walk from the hotel.Restaurants close by are not bad value but do look around as there are many price differences. If the weather is good go to a supermaket , buy some bread and cheese and have a pinic in the park by the Eiffel Tower and just people watch ....fantastic. ((BEWARE of the beggars.))

My wife, my mother, and our cousin stayed here on a package trip to Paris. This was my first time in Europe so I was not quite sure what to expect but this property more than met our needs.
We arrived in Paris at about 10:30 AM local time after a very long flight from the USA. When we reached the hotel, we were disappointed to be told that our rooms were not ready and that it would be much later than afternoon before we could check in. We were dog tired after that long flight but there was little we could do about it so we left the baggage at the hotel and took a walk around the area. It turned out that they were able to get our rooms ready a little earlier than originally anticipated so we checked in and went to our rooms.
The rooms were perfectly fine- very small but comfortable. Each had a private bathroom that had a stand up shower in it. One word of caution: the shower was tiny- almost like showering in a phone booth- but we found it to be adequate for our needs.
The bed was something of a surprise as it was quite comfortable. There was also a desk with chair, a flat screen TV, and a coffee maker.
Each morning there was a continental breakfast served in the dining room. This was very good as the selection of breakfast items was impressive.
The hotel is in an excellent location and is convenient to many of the attractions. The Eiffel Tower is a short stroll away as are a number of shops and restaurants. Tours leave from the hotel lobby.
This hotel caters to tour groups so the lobby can get very crowded. This is especially true first thing in the morning when people are either checking out or having breakfast.
My only real complaint is the elevator, or as it was referred to on the sign they had posted, the "lift". Like the shower, it was tiny. It could hold no more than 3 people at a time and perhaps only 1 person if they had a lot of luggage with them.
Twice during our week stay, it broke down. This was not a major inconvenience as we would simply take the stairs. Unfortunately, it was out of service on the morning in which we checked out. My wife and I were fine using the stairs but there were two elderly women in our party that had difficulty managing the stairs with their luggage. I helped them so it was not a huge deal but what bothered me the most was the indifferent attitude of the hotel staff when we reported the elevator problem to them.
We told them that there were older persons on the upper floors that may require some help with their luggage but the woman at the front desk seemed completely uninterested. She basically told us that she had reported the elevator being out and until the repairmen fixed it, there was nothing more she could do. We told her some people may need help with their luggage but that fell on deaf ears. Until this incident, the hotel staff had been most pleasant so I was a little disappointed that they took such an unconcerned attitude now.
Over all though, this is a nice hotel in a popular area of Paris. I would recommend it very highly.

there was a 3= 2 sale available online so we spent 66 euro/night on a decent room. it was a no-frills hotel, but safe, clean, and close (5-10 min walk) to a metro stop. our dog came with us and was able to stay without any pet deposit, that most other hotels require. it was nice feeling that our dog was welcome :)
breakfast is a little pricey but good variety- bread, croissants, DELICIOUS coffee, traditional meats and cheeses... we only ate breakfast there on our last morning before checking out and made sure to eat our money's worth!
the staff spoke decent english, and were all very friendly.
parking was a little sketchy. apparently they have some sort of private referral to a local garage. we didn't want to leave the car there at first, but were unable to find a parking lot nearby. we had no problem, though. i think we paid 15 euro/day. not bad in paris. parking on the street was not an option as you need some kind of a card; you couldn't just put money in a meter.
by the end of the stay, the room was feeling very small. not much space for baggage. there was only one hook to hang towels in the bathroom, an inconvenience. for a few days, when you're constantly out and seeing Paris, this hotel is fine. If you want a fancy hotel, look somewhere else!
fyi- there is a mercure/accor hotel nearby, just across from the metro (Dupleix? stop). might be a better option if you want to be super close to the train.
enjoy paris, we did!

There are mixed reviews for the Campanile on this site, and having just returned from a trip staying there in March 2008. I shared a triple room with two friends, and yes it was tiny - we were there for two nights and I don't think I could have coped any longer; no room for worn/dirty clothes, nowhere to hang up our wet jackets... On the plus side, it's very quiet, there is a superb Italian restaurant about 20 metres away, you have your pick of metro stations to take you anywhere you need to go and it's very clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. However, if you want to minimise your metro use or go out drinking at night, I wouldn't recommend it - find somewhere more central. For our needs, though (sightseeing, shopping and eating) it was pretty perfect, but as I said above, I couldn't cope for longer than a few days in that tiny room!
