Worst Hotel Experience EVER

The male receptionist at check-in was the rudest, most arrogant and condescending person I have ever met. After taking our debit cards we were given a ten minute lecture as if we were naughty schoolchildren before we were allowed to go to our rooms. Our group's average age was 35. We are all responsible adults, with full time jobs and families and did not appreciate being spoken down to like a bunch of low-lifes. I would not have spoken to my 12 year old son the way this man spoke to us. If he had lectured us before we paid we would have left immediately. As it was, his attitude left us in no doubt that we would not be given a refund. After the shock of check-in the room was another shock. The room did not live up to the official pictures. The room we were in was in dire need of a refurbishment. My friend and I had the misfortune to share a room on the street side. Very noisy with the window open. Room smelt bad and was hot if window kept closed. Room tiny with only about 12" between the twin beds. The walls were discoloured. The bathroom was nasty. With a cracked sink. A bath too short to lie down in. The tiling around the bath was dirty, discoloured and the grout had black mildew stains. The bathroom floor was dirty with visible footprints. Despite two people sharing a room we were only given two towels (one each-no towel for hair). The cleaner came early and woke us up. We asked her to come back later but she didn't so we didn't even get a change of towels or replenishment of tea bags (only two teabags in room originally). The doors did not have soft closers on them so there was an almost constant bang of doors at all hours. Nice position overlooking water but 15 minute walk to town or Albert Dock. The immediate area was not safe at night even in a group of two. Even if we'd had a room with a view of the water it would not have made up for the location, the state of the room or most of all the rudeness of the male receptionist. I will never stay here again. Thank goodness we were only there for two nights and spent as little time in the room as possible. I refused to go in reception if the man was on duty. I did not use the restaurant as I did not want to give this hotel anymore of my money. I must say that the female staff that were on duty when we checked out were a complete contrast to the man - they were very friendly and helpful. I wish the lady that had booked this hotel for us had checked the reviews on Trip Advisor first. I would only recommend this hotel to someone I really didn't like.

Stayed here for the Champions League S/F.
Ok I was there with the lads, but god it was basic.
The checkin was regimental, rooms simple and bathroom bad. Smallest beth in the world. Very little light.
Single beds seemed small in the small room.
On the positive side - The location is excellent.
would only stay if i really had too.

Excellent hotel, the room was clean and spacious - the bathroom was bigger than some rooms I have stayed in. Great location next to the Albert Dock, great for walking to the bars and restaurants there, and also the pierhead area. About a twenty minute walk to the City centre, but if that is too far for you there is a taxi free phone in reception. Add to this free parking, a restaurant and bar, the friendly management team of Ian and Lisa Hamer, the ridiculously cheap price and you can't go wrong. Anyone who has any complaint about this hotel needs to get out more !
Basic but fine

Stayed here for one night prior to a conference the next day - late check in with no problems, very friendly manager on the desk. Room was basic and needed redecoration, but was spotlessly clean and for the budget price relative to everywhere else locally, was fine. Tea, coffee, relatively cheap wi-fi (as long as you have a T-mobile phone, it's a T-mobile hotspot - otherwise more expensive) - good shower. Lovely view to the water right outside the room, which was totally unexpected. I personally probably wouldn't want to be there longer than a few nights, but for it's purpose it was fine.

After hours searching for a hotel in Liverpool city centre with reasonable prices, we found Campanile. With a large car park and walking distance into the town centre and the Albert docks-was brillent. Prices were cheap too compared to other hotels in the area...
The rooms were a bit run down, but just in need of a lick of paint.. But was fine for 1 night, shower was a bit dodgy too. We requested a non smoking room but clearly some one had been smoking in there as it stunk!
