This is a clean and functional place to stay for a few days. The room was bigger than most French hotels in the category. Always kept clean. It's warm and bright. Standard Tea and coffee facilities. The hotel is situated about 5 minutes easy walk from the centre\cathedral square etc and with a bit of map reading you can find your way from the hotel to the centre, shopping district\historical centre\ tram lines without ever needing to take the car. Speaking of cars..there is usually loads of parking across the street and a big big city centre park on the next block (you pay after 7am).
Staff not overly welcoming, but pleasant...as far as French hotel staff can be.
Some negative points; Poor mini-bar. The view is not up to much and the hotel lacked English (or any other language besides French) speaking TV stations. I pretty much used the hotel to rest my head for 8 hours per night and thats it. Didn't try the break fast as ?8 for a buffet breakfast seems pretty steep considering you can find a nice bakery and caf? with ease in the city centre.

We were looking for a cheap no-frills hotel near the town centre and this was perfect.
We took an executive double room last minutre via the internet, costing 65 Euros. It was a good size and very well fitted out - good range of TV channels, nice bathroom, all clean and new.
The whole hotel is simple but well executed. It is located on the edge of the old town, which makes it easy to access by car but also just a few minutes from the main square and the shopping/food district. The old town is lovely (especially during the Christmas period) and there's plenty of choice of places to eat and drink.
Covered parking is attached to the hotel (10 Euros, but we weren't charged).
We visited the Kyriad Prestige a few days later, but we'd recommend the Kyriad Centre.

If you need to be in Clermont-Ferrand, this is an ok hotel. It's good for access to downtown. The room is the best part. Nice bathroom, comfortable bed, and plenty of electrical outlets to charge your phone, for example. They also have a box of cell phone chargers at the front desk (in case you don't have the more widely-used adapter for France.) The staff seemed relatively helpful, but you know, still quite French.
