This hotel is a typical example of a standard Danish hotel, it was dirty, exceptionally rude staff, rooms that are not properly cleaned, ligt bulbs missing, and no internet or telephone connection. They tried to over charge. And following all that the managers are never available when you want to see them. Why can't the Danes pull themselves together and sort their hotels and staff out.

This hotel is extremely convenient for exploring Copenhagen, however, it is most definately "no frills". As far as value for money is concerned - it is average if you remember that Copenhagen itself is extremely expensive.
My partner and I booked this hotel through Airmiles. Having read the reviews of the other available hotels in our price range, this seemed the best of a rather dodgy bunch.
It is very easy to get to - take the overland into Copenhagen main station, and it's 5 minutes walk away (cheaper than a taxi - equvalent of ?40). Also it's extremely near the main shopping area (5 mins walk), as well as the "forum" - a large arena where there are often exhibitions, and lots of parks. We even took the 30 minute walk to the Mermaid - which, although was freezing (it was the snowy Easter break), was well worth it, as we went through the parks, the botanical gardens and the fort.
The museums are largely located within the shopping area (the Erotic museum is actually quite "classy"!) The Tivoli gardens - which only open in April for the summer season - much to our disappointment - are also just next door to the main entrance.
Copenhagen is quite expensive, and the food is not necessarily all that good - unless you like pickle. The buffets in particular have a lot of pickled pasta - which can be a bit much. We did however, enjoy Mama Rositas - a Latin restaurant in the main shopping district, and also a lovely little pub which did excellent open sandwiches (I forget the name, but it was the first one after the main square).
All in all, we'd probably not return, and although the hotel was a little on the shabby side - needed renovating, if we did, it still might be a safer choice than some of the others - although the pay-tv wasn't working, there was no room service, nor restaurant, and the staff were a little abrupt.

Remember when booking in Copenhagen -- there are several different Norlandia hotels on Vester Farmisgade and the Richmond is the crummy one... Two nights at this 'hotel' was two nights too many... where to begin? Lumpy bed, rough towels that smelled like mothballs, broken light, grubby floor, broken patio door seeping cold air, uncomfortably small and impractical bathroom. To not include breakfast for 2,100 Danish crowns a night seemed laughable. What is it about this 'hotel' that makes it feel like a run down dormitory in the Soviet Union? Is this Vladivostok in 1983? I thought I was in Copenhagen?!? Atrocious...

Stayed with my youngest daughter in late November. Wasn't too sure about booking hotel since I read some mixed reviews. Found hotel front desk staff to be hit or miss. Some were very accommodating, others couldn't be bothered to notice you were standing there.
The room was very basic, but I felt I got what I paid for. We were put in a room at the front of the hotel which wasn't as bad as I had heard. The only real shock was the bathroom that turned into a shower. The bathroom could have been cleaner, but it wasn't terrible.
As for the buffet breakfast, I found it to be better than some I've had in other countries. They had a nice selection of breads, boiled eggs, breakfast meats. There was a small selection of local Danish breakfast items, none of which, however, that looked good enough to try.
We booked this hotel due to its proximity to Tivoli Gardens and the Town Square. Our room overlooked Tivoli which delighted my daughter no end. All in all, if you are looking for a centrally located, basic hotel with a decent breakfast, this could work for you.
