We stayed at the Norlandia in Copenhagen in April of 2008. The room was very small but the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was nice. The location was in walking distance to many attractions. We did however have personel possesions taken from our suitcase in our room. We reported this to hotel staff who were not very sympathetic. Inexpensive compared to other hotels, but with the cost of our stolen property, it would have been much cheaper to stay someplace else!

i spent 5 nights in this hotel and while i agree with the other reviewer that it was quiet, i find there is not much else to recommend about it. taking the advice of the other reviewer i requested a quiet room in the back. (the rooms in the front overlook a busy road and railroad tracks) i arrived and was given a room on the 5th floor in the back. the room smelled strongly of sewage. i immediately called the front desk and the man came upstairs and gave me a new room and agreed that there was a strong smell. i was given a room overlooking the outdoor tennis court and it was quiet.
i was advised that the restaurant was under renovation and i would have to walk 100 meters down the street to another hotel in the norlandia chain to have breakfast (i skipped this option and just went to a cafe).
the next day i attempted to take a bath in the small bathroom. there was no plug for the drain. so i called the reception. no answer. i went down and searched for someone and eventually tracked down the one person on duty (in the middle of the afternoon). they said that the hotel didn't have very many plugs for the bathtub drains and that it might be a few days. i'm not kidding! i took matters into my own hands and found a chambermaid who just went into someone else's room and took their drain plug. evidently drain plugs are a rare commodity in denmark!
on the last day of my stay the flat-screen tv stopped working. i called the reception and they told me that the maintainance man had gone home for the weekend and there would be no way to repair it. this was friday at 14:30! the weekend starts early in copenhagen!
finally when i checked out i asked to have a piece of paper copied. after a wait of several minutes, the attendant announced that the copier didn't work. no suggestions were offered for where i might make a copy.
in short, the service in this place is truly lacking. they were friendly, but not very helpful. the bed was comfortable and aside from the noises of construction it was relatively quiet. the outdoor tennis court was of no use in the wet, cold weather.
the location is convenient - close to train station and just outside the old city. the room itself was quite small and very plain. despite recent and ongoing renovations there already was a stain on the carpet outside my room.
i would recommend staying somewhere else.
