Usually when you book with priceline you get the crummy room they don't ever book. We loved our spacious room. The bathroom was huge. We had an Eastside view which was spectacular. The view from the swimming area at night was incredible-overlooking the Gallivan Plaza. We were also within walking distance of almost everything downtown. We traveled with our 5 year old and appreciated the number of channel selections. Our visit was perfect.

This Marriott provides very smooth and polished service. Room service was prompt and generally very good, and staff were without exception competent and helpful.
The location is very convenient to downtown, and I think this is a great choice for business travelers. I was impressed with the level of service. My one quibble is that the location in downtown Salt Lake is not somewhere you'd particularly want to linger or explore much on foot -- but that's not the fault of the hotel.

Stayed here while my wife was having outpatient surgery. The hotel staff was awesome, the parking valets and doorman were quick to assist and get a wheelchair for my wife, housekeeping was great at cleaning bathroom quietly while my wife slept, great location on the plaza, probably the best exercise room I've used at a hotel.

The excellent city centre location almost pushed this to a 4 (above expectation) rating being one block from the 'free zone' of the TRAX light railway and a 10 minute walk to the Mormon 'HQ' at Temple Square.
My room included a sofa, coffee maker, safe, wireless internet (at cost) although overall it felt a little dated but sound insulation from adjacent rooms and the outside world were above par. Linens, bed comfort were up to the usual Marriott standard. Bathroom was a little on the small size.
Good sized Starbucks with comfy chairs and cheery staff is part of the hotel complex and has the added winter bonus of over looking the ice rink.
I did not sample the hotel bar or restaurant as various alternatives are within walking distance although on Sunday most were closed with these 2 notable exceptions, Squatters and Red Rock both excellent Brew pubs and just 1 block apart. No concierge desk but the front desk staff were very helpful and there was plenty of local info available (ski resorts, ski rental shops, discounts).
Transfer from the airport via shuttle bus was $7 and on Sunday took just 10-15 minutes.
My free 30 minute tour of the Mormon church 'HQ' was a worthy experience which included the Tabernacle complete with a blast from the huge organ. The volunteer staff in the family history center were really helpful and fired me up to enter my family history into the 'huge' Mormon database. The restaurant provided a decent snack and coffee in pleasant surroundings.
