Spent two nights in the Marriott due to a business trip to Riyadh. I was very satisfied with the hotel, and wished I could have spent some more time in the comfortable bed, instead of attending meetings all day (and night) long. To start with, the entrance is well protected against violence. i.e. there is security screening and cars cannot drive directly to the entrance. The staff is very friendly, and even though there are only two persons working at the reception, they undertake endeavours to serve the guests. If you are in a hurry, prepare some time for that. The food is quite good, the snacks in the bar as well. Smoking areas are available. The rooms are well equipped, including ironing board and coffee maker. breakfast served in room is very punctual. Clean. Bathroom amenities good. I had a room with almost no view, a bit dark, and couldn't open the window. Now here are some downsides: Newspaper only delivered one morning, other morning no newspaper. Slippers provided second evening, first evening no slippers. But to conclude - overall a very good hotel.

This is such a depressing place. While security barricades make one feel somewhat secure, the lobby is as quiet as a morgue, except for a bunch of old men sitting around smoking. I have stayed a many Marriotts around the world, and find this one to be seriously in need of a facelift. The rooms are quiet, and the bed very comfortable, but the TV had an ancient remote control that only worked marginally, and the bathroom was early 70s. Windows are small, and with the heavy curtains, the rooms are very dark, even at midday. Food was dull. I know that the local cultural and religious restrictions would never allow the lobby to be like any other Marriott, but I still couldn't wait to leave. Front desk staff performed their tasks, but nobody seemed really happy to be there. Welcome to Saudi Arabia!

Good Mariott hotel but not well located. Far from downtown (cab necessary - not walking distance)

Stayed here for a few days this March. The hotel is clean and quiet. It is not really near anything and requires a taxi to get anywhere. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous. We ate at the Mosaic a few times. The salad buffet was very nice. It was expensive but had a nice assortment of food including non-meat for vegetarians. Nice workout facility but they are for men only. Television service was good with several English channels including some movies. Internet service was available but expensive considering the costs of the room. It would have been nice to have free Wifi in the lobby.

L'hotel Marriott a Riyadh è il perfetto esempio di albergo per occidentali in Paesi in cui, come l'Arabia Saudita, il soggiorno si riduce a lavoro di giorno e albergo di sera. L'albergo offre ogni tipo di comfort: dalla mega piscina alla palestra al tennis ecc. ecc.. Cibo ottimo, colazione abbondante, servizio fin troppo zelante, camere spaziose, il tutto a prezzi che, ai cambi attuali, risultano assolutamente competitivi rispetto ad analoghi alberghi europei.
