Hotel rooms and hallways were old and shabby. Had asked for a room with two beds, but got a king and sleeper. No sheets on sleeper sofa at 11pm at night. Had to call housekeeping with a child that was ready for bed....had to wait for a while to get them and then they just dropped them off. Breakfast delivered both days and they forgot several things both times. Reported a noise in room that "clicked" every hour....no one seemed to be concerned. Friendly staff but not very responsive.

My best friend and I went to Kansas City April 16 - 19 2008 and stayed at this
hotel for the duration of our trip. We were in town specifically for the Bon
Jovi concert at the new Sprint Center.
This hotel met our needs perfectly. Not only was my friend able to book this
hotel with a flight combination on one of the major websites (it was either
Priceline or Orbitz - not sure) at an unbelievable price....the amenities were
perfect for our needs. The location is really ideal in that its is centrally
located close (walking distance if you enjoy walking) to Country Club Plaza, and
just a short drive down the road to the downtown area.
I found the area to be very safe and the surrounding neighborhoods and parks
would be very nice for walking, jogging, letting your children play, etc. There
were no disappointments when it came to the hotel. I thought the hotel
resturant food was overpriced - but that's anywhere.
I worked out in the gym at the hotel during my stay - its very nice for an away
from home gym. The treadmills were a little worn, but still effective. The
towels and sheets in our room were very nice, smelled fresh and clean and were
of high quality. TV was a flat screen - good size. I really liked that the
hotel was quiet. I do not recall hearing other patrons in our room - not even
once. Not sure if it was b/c of lack of travellers or maybe its just well
built - but we appreciated it.
Parking at the hotel - again - overpriced but its just a trapping of any city
hotel. There were two valets that were incredibly helpful and knowledgeble of
the area.
I would definitely stay here again and reccomend it to my friends. Hope you
found this helpful. If you want some resturant picks - there's a great classic
hamburger stand just around the corner, we did that one day for lunch - was very
good for a grease fix. We ate at Fiorella's Jack BBQ at Country Club - I was
not impressed. Our best meal was actually at a Kansas City original - Minsky's
Pizza, a few blocks from the hotel, its a gourmet style pizza house - it was
really tasty!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Upon check-in the staff seemed pleasant and helpful. However, when we wanted to use the hot tub that evening after dinner, the water was cold. So, we told the front desk about the issue and they said they would send someone to adjust the temperature. We waited for a little while, then went and checked again. The water was still cold that time and the subsequent times we checked that evening. So, we gave up and decided we would try it again the following morning before heading out for shopping at the Plaza. The water was still cold, so I called to the front desk for a reimbursement on our bill for poor working amenities. We were credited $50, which was ok - but should have been more for their poor service regarding the issue. After shopping on Saturday, we had dinner reservations at a place in the Plaza. We decided to wait for the hotel shuttle to take us, as it was raining and chilly outside. We were told it would take only about 10-15 minutes. After about a 20 minute wait for the shuttle, we were getting a little annoyed, as were the other patrons waiting. Someone asked the bell boy how much longer and he rudely answered "Lady, it will be here in 10-15 mintues, there are like 6 people waiting." and walked away. So, I went to the front desk and asked them to call to the shuttle driver and find out how far away he was - something the bell boy should have done in the first place! Thankfully we made it to the restaurant, but late for our reservation. It was busy, so we were still able to keep our reservation, though. The worst customer service has come after our stay. I left my make-up bag at the hotel by accident and did not realize it until we were home. So, we called the hotel and after several calls and being forwarded to a machine - not a human being, we were told they had my bag and would ship it out. I just called again today - 3 days after checkout and they still had not shipped it yet. Their excuse being "There is only 1 person who does the shipments here, they only work in the mornings and apparently they are out today and have been all week. Hopefully we can get it out tomorrow." What a horrible excuse - c'mon, it is not that hard to ship the pacakge and you should have told me that the shipper was out sick, not to expect my package for a few days! I am very frustrated and annoyed. For the expensive rate we payed, I would have expected more of a "Sure, m'am we will ship your package out today via "x," you should expect to receive it yet this week. I will not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone else!
