Our room was so humid that the rug felt wet and the walls had water stains on it. The bed was so soft that our backs hurt for days. We stayed there two nights and left for the Westin.

My husband is staying at the Huntsville Marriott while attending Space Camp with our son's 5th grade class (the kids are in the camp dorms). I have had two wonderful examples of service that I wanted to share. Last week I contacted Brandi in Catering about having a basket in my husband's room upon arrival. I was *very* specific about what I wanted (four greenish bananas; two red apples; six diet coke; six waters; large bag fat free pretzels, etc). She was spot on with the contents and she couldn't have been nicer. Today, I called the front desk and spoke with Kayla. Asked her if she knew of any pharmacies in the area that delivered. My husband is quite sick with a cold and needs some OTC meds (no car). She didn't know of a pharmacy, but said *she would be happy to run to Walgreen's and pick up what he needed*. Okay - this is the kind of service I expect at higher end hotels - but the Hunstville Marriott? Kudos to them for service and compassion!

I have never posted a negtive review on trip advosor so I consider myself a very fortunate traveler but my stay at this hotel
was the worst yet.
I sent the same text below via email to the Marriott.
I felt it important to share my displeasure with my experience at the Huntsville Marriott on January 23, 2008.
My administrative assistant had made the reservations as usual utilizing Expedia. The reservaion specifically stated a king bed, non smoking room.
Upon check in I was advised, in a less that compassionate tone that a king bed was not available and thay had no record of my request. I provided a copy of my itenarary from expedia with the confirmation of a king bed, non smoking room. I was advised we have no record of the request.
Well it was late, it was raining, not in the mood to relocate I took the room given. The room was located in an adjacent building in which the interior hall way looked more like a budget inn that a $200.00 per night hotel.
Upon entering the room, stale smoke was in the air, so much for the non smoking request. I walked over to the sliding window to air out the room to find the sliding window unlocked an already cracked open, So much for security. I went to lie on the bed and noticed A LOT of paint flaking off the ceiling.
After a rude desk clerk, smokey room, no king bed, unlocked window which reqired me to do my own security search of the room, and try not to be blinded by the flaking paint on the ceiling I thought at least a hot show would be nice. Wrong, I pulled a nicely folded towel from the towel rack to find a very large, plate sized stain in the center of the towel.
I took picture of flaking ceiling and the disgusting towel. I thought about reporting it to the front desk clerk but recalling her ugly attitude, I decided that I had endured more my than $200.00 worth of uglyness at the Marriott Huntsville all ready , I was just thankful this was a short trip.
I hope some one cares enough to read this and makes necessary changes for the next unfortunate business traveler that gets lured to this location.
I could not get the pics added so here are the links

We just stayed at the Marriott Huntsville this weekend, and we were pleasantly surprised. The previous reviews here weren't too good, but this was a trip pre-arranged by our scouting pack, and this hotel is on the Space Camp grounds, so it seemed convenient.
First, the room. It was thoroughly clean, fresh-smelling, and had the really nice soft bedding with the down comforter. The room did not look brand new, but the carpet was stain free, and there was no visible damage to anything in the room. The bathroom was spotless, the tv worked, and the a/c was a normal hotel unit, and worked fine. I asked several others in our group how their rooms were, and they were all very satisfied.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Because we are platinum members, we asked about the concierge lounge. They told us it was not open on the weekend, but for the inconvenience, they offered us breakfast for 3 at the hotel. This was a very nice buffet, with the option to order additional menu items at no charge. We also enjoyed an appetizer and drink in the Otter Lounge while we were there.
This hotel offers an indoor/outdoor pool, and an indoor hot tub. the indoor pool is not heated, but the room was warm, and the pool was a great temperature for the kids. There's also a small, but really well-equipped work out room right off the pool area.
If you forgot floaties or goggles, there is a gift shop with a wide range of goods, including snacks, magazines, pool items, souvenirs, and other stuff. The ladies we met working in there were very sweet.
If your kids are in Space Camp, and you need to kill some time, there is a nearby mall and major shopping area. It took us just a few minutes to get there. They have movies, restaurants, and every store you can think of, all on one strip that I think was called University Dr.
While this was not the nicest of the Marriotts we have stayed in, I would not hesitate to stay here again, or to recommend it to others. I could not find any faults with this place!
