Marriot BWI - not children friendly

For a high end hotel, this hotel did not even offer a continental breakfast. We had real problem with the pool area. While we were there for a family reunion, with young children, there were individuals down at the pool area that were posing in pornograhic poses and one of the women had a bathing suit on with the back cut half way down her behind so that when she bent over it was extremely indescent - it was more exposing than a thong bathing suit. We asked the hotel security to ask them to cover up and stop the posing - but security refused to do anything. We then asked for a manager and the manager stated that they could not do anything about it. I informed them that a bathing suit like that would be illegal on the beaches in Maryland and I was informed that since it was a private pool they did not have to follow the laws. I would question ever staying in a hotel like this with children

We booked our stay through the Marriott website using our Marriott Rewards points and it was so worth it. The location was fairly easy to find and there was plenty of parking. There is an exquisite lobby with auto-sliding doors for the traveler with their hands full and a Champions Restaurant inside. Champions is much like a Sports Bar. This restaurant had flat panel tv's with comfortable lounge seating and separate party centers for a group of sport enthusiasts having a good time with friends. The service was wonderful. You have to try their fried twinkies...OMG can you say "Tasty"!! Wow they were so good, you'll feel guilty for eating the whole thing. It worth it if we're in the area just to stop on by and have these. My husband and I were in the area for a workshop being held in one of the Conference Rooms and the accommodations were really nice. You'll notice a waterfall through glass on your way to the conference room, but if you look down it cascades into a pool and there is a jacuzzi behind the wall. Our room was comfortable but we heard some squeaking and even though the hotel was sold out they were able to accommodate us by giving us another room. There is a nice desk, where you can hook a laptop to internet access if needed. I believe there is a charge of $9.95 that will be added to your bill fi this service is used. There is a pull out swivel tv with all the plenty of movies to purchase in room. We noticed they also had adjoining rooms if you have a large party. Even more there was a Prom taking place downstairs and we did not hear a peep all night. No rowdy kids or running in the hall way. We wouldn't have known it. We were duly impressed. Everything was clean and upscale decor. Our towels were folded in fans and your room had all the fixings that you could want. In the morning we went downstairs and enjoyed the buffet breakfast available to all guests. This is not complimentary, but you can get your omellettes made with your choice veggies and a blueberry waffle if you liked. Of course you had the fresh fruit and usual breakfast fare. It was really good. If you're heading to the airport there are complimentary shuttles available and even a kiosk to print off your boarding passes. We definitely had a pleasant stay and would return if in the area again.

great Priceline deal

Booked this hotel for $40 on Priceline. Needed somewhere to stay after a late night flight, before driving to Ocean City.
Staff seemed nice...
Nothing special, typical Marriott.
Hotel nice but problem with employee...

We stayed here for one evening prior to flying out for a 4 day vacation. Chose this hotel because of close proximity to BWI airport. Hotel itself is nice and we had no problem checking in. We liked the fact that we could pay $5 a day to park while we were gone and just catch a shuttle for free to and from the airport. Our disappointment came when we arrived back from vacation and found that our car battery was dead, We went to the front desk to ask for assistance and received a very condescending comment as well as no help at all from an employee named Anthony. Another employee, however, did take over, named David, and was able to get someone in their maintenance area to assist us with a jump so that we wouldn't have to use our roadside assistance and wait for help.

Unfriendly staff at the BWI Marriott
Guest name: Gelfi, MA, USA
Staff cold and unfriendly. Did not make me feel welcome at all, particularly the front desk supervisor, David, upon checking in. I have stayed at the Marriott Courtyard down the street in the past, and the staff there goes out of their way to be helpful. I can not say the same for this "3-star" full service Marriott that we stayed in this time.
The price was good for this place, but I'm sure we only got it because the hotel is in deperate need of a renovation. The room was nice enough, and the bed was comfortable, which I guess makes up for the unfriendly staff. Passed one Marriott employee in the hallway who did not say hello or ask how my stay is. The only reason this place was acceptable was because we got it on priceline for $65/night or something.
