This hotel locate just across the street from Calgary Tower. If you are lucky to get a room on the 9th Ave side, you can see the Tower from your window.
If you book the trip from priceline.com, you might not be able to access the gym and pool. They didn't tell me that at check-in. I followed another guest who has access to the gym and it's pretty nice, they have a medium size gym facilities. The machines have individual TV in it and they provide you with earphones, so you can watch the news while you workout without disturbing other people.
Just like other hotel cater to business travelers, you will be charges for everything. Parking is $30 a day, but the Parkade across the street charge $20 a day and it has overpass directly linked to the hotel 2nd floor. Internet and Phone call cost money as well.
The room is very nice. TV is a 42 inch plasma TV. The beddings are very comfortable. The fan is a bit noisy though. There is no fan in the bathroom, so it's very steamy after a shower.
There is a Starbuck and Milestone in the hotel, so it's quite convenience. But you can also find other eateries on Stephen's Avenue just next to the hotel. Also, its +15 overpass network brings you to other buildings (but I hope they will build overpass network to connect to the Eaton center network)
In the morning, the lobby have 2 jars of strawberry mint favor water or lemon cucumber water. They are pretty refreshing in a hot summer day.

Great location. Spent first and last night of 10 day trip at Marriott. Service was excellent. Concierge was most helpful to ensure we received our luggage which was late, coming in on a later flight.
Highly recommend stay for service and location, to local restaurants and to the airport. Hotel upgraded us for last night of stay to concierge level which was terrific.

We chose this hotel because of its location. It is directly opposite the railway station and we would be arriving on The Rocky Mountaineer train.
This proved to be a very good choice, as when we got into Calgary at 10 pm, there was snow everywhere - we were later told that over 20 cms had fallen - so we only had to cross the road to reach our hotel.
The room was comfortable, well equipped and in excellent decorative condition.
Our package included breakfast and the buffet selection catered for all tastes. The food was delicious and cooked to order.
One drawback was that the Internet access was in the Gift Shop which meant that it shut in the evening and we had to pay to use it. In other Marriott Hotels we have had free access to the Internet 24/7.

Myself, my partner and my mother, booked 2 double rooms for 1 night in Calgary. My partner and I arrived first and checked in. We were greeted pleasantly but for some reason they wouldn't let us check in both rooms despite the fact the booking was on the same form. A little confusing, but we let it ride. It was fine when my mum booked in later on, but we didn't have rooms next door to each other (no big pain but it would have been nice).
The room was clean and tidy but...
The air conditioning didn't work and was too hot all the time and when it came on it was so loud we thought we were at war!
The windows wouldn't open to cool the room
There was only coffee in the room, no normal tea, only cream no milk. (I know it sounds minor but not everybody likes coffee!)
The other major disappointment was the valet parking. There is no alternative parking and you have to pay for it. I'm slightly wary of valet parking (and for good reason in this case). We sent our car off to be parked, the first time it came back with evidence that whoever parked it had been through our things - the glove box contents was shifted and the ash tray was left half open, along with another draw under the passenger seat.
The second time the car came back it had an extra 70kms on the clock. Is the parking lot really that far away?!!!
All in all, I wouldn't stay there again, it looks respectable, but has no soul.

This hotel has an ageist attitude. We spent the weekend there, and was harrassed by security. They actually asked us ' who let you in'!!! I will never stay at any Marriott again because of this issue again and I advise anyone who looks slightly younger to avoid staying here. They will NOT be receiving my proffessional business, nor my leisure business.
