We stayed at the Marriott for two nights at the front end of our Alaska trip. It's a nice, average property. Not luxurious but certainly comfortable. They have the new Marriott bedding, which was wonderful, but the property overall doesn't have many amenities or extras that better Mariotts do. Everything was clean and functional and the location was very convenient. Front desk staff was very good...valet was a little slow on the uptake. We'd stay here again--especially after seeing the Sheraton location.

One night stay retuning from Kenai AK. Hotel was easy to find. Check in was very fast and professional. Rooms were comfortable and spacious with very nice, cozy beds, great linen and spectacular views. Washroom was supplied with most amenities you’d expect to find in a 4 star hotel with the exception of bath robes. Also, no in room mini bar but access to pop and ice machines close by. Pool was good – average for a hotel this size. Exercise room was great with a variety of weights, cable machines and cardio equipment. Parking was limited to street unless you were able to pay for valet at 16$ per night. Great Stay – professional and friendly staff. Valet had great recomendations for local eating (Platinum Jaxx for take out). Would absolutly book this hotel again if returning to Anchorage.

We stayed 1 night. Great service all around except for a slightly surley bar tender. Like all Marriotts we've stayed in lately, they have wonderful cloud-like down bedding. We didn't want to get out of it so we called down about extending check out and were graciously informed that we could extend until 2:00 p.m. at no extra charge. Bliss!

I've stayed here before and was a little less impressed this time. I have been trying to select Marriotts because I have a couple of favorite Marriott locations so decided to accumulate Rewards points.
PROS: Nice lobby with good service at the front desk (that has been a bit inconsistent though), nice location, the valet park is fast and convenient, bedding is nice, hotel is clean, small but pleasant bar. (Never ate in restaurant or had room service)
CONS: We somehow ended up with a room next to the ice machine and for awhile I thought the sound of running water every little while was the people upstairs flushing. It was SO LOUD it actually woke me up, as it sounded as if water was running through our room. I finally realized it might've been the plumbing for the ice machine. Also, the bathroom is kind of small and only "average" for a Marriott. The maids were up early, conversing loudly in the hallway and vacuming rather early. Lastly, the business center is very small (no wireless in the rooms) consists of two computers, only one of which has a printer. That one, for whatever reason, is the one all the young men were camped at watching bball online or something?
So, I would probably stay again and it was fine, it just isn't anything more than what it is - clean, comfortable, a little pricey for what you get but an "average" experience.

Not impressed at all!!!

I am on a business trip in Anchorage, Alaska. The meetings I am attending are located at the Anchorage Marriott Downtown, therefore; they reccommended that the meeting participants book a reservation with this particular hotel for "convenience". This hotel is definitely not convenient for families.
Because I live in Alaska, I figured I would bring my family with me because this particular hotel is advertised as "family friendly".
I know that what I am about to mention is asking a lot, but, in comparison to what the other hotels offer two blocks away... this hotel needs to refocus their goals.
First I would like to say what I do like. Most of the staff were phenomenal. They were very kind and cared about our needs.
I also like the fact that the hotel is completely SMOKE FREE!!!! That is a huge plus!
The beds and bedding are very comfortable and cozy.
OK.. I guess this is where I start with what I wasnt impressed with. First, the pool and hot tub are very warn and dirty. My whole family got sick with a cold because there is no real air flow. I could not open one window in my room. There are no microwaves or small fridges. We bought limited amount of groceries that would fit into our bathroom sink. Fill it with our cold goods and then filled it with ice. We had to fill it with ice three- four times a day.
There is no continental breakfast... a hotel down the street has free breakfast and free dinner daily.
The menu is small and the prices are outrageous from the restaurant.
It has been an OK experience... but I wont be staying here ever again... not with all these other hotels that offer more for less!
OH YEAH! And the worst part... there were what looked like pubes in TWO of our rovided drinking glasses.
