This is an actual old convent complete with chapel and everything. We stayed in a junior suite and the bed was huge and overlooked the pool. The free breakfast had everything you could imagine. The service was great and the concierge was very accomodating. If a clean stay is important to you, stay here. The location is right in the old town where the great restaurants are and the shopping.

The great, breakfast, the building, swimming pool, location.
The ok, furniture in the loverely old room was more Marriot or internattional chain hotel. Our bedroom window opened out above the kitchen extractor.
The bad, lunch at the bar, the burgers were worse than the cheapest street venders and literally 10x's the price.

We spent 3 nights at this amazing hotel at Easter on our first ever visit to Brasil.
Having read mixed reviews about service etc I was a little unsure what to expect but we found the whole experience fantastic.
Our room was beautiful, large, clean and well appointed. The little gifts which arrived on our pillows daily were a lovely touch.
The breakfasts were brilliant and the choice extensive, fresh fruit, various breads, cheeses, meats, juices, eggs etc.
Reception staff were very professional and friendly and keen to answer all our requests.
Restaurant and bar staff were all excellent.
A little more expensive than perhaps some other hotels in the Pelourinho but in our view well worth the extra cost.
Everything was perfect.
A beautiful hotel in an amazing building.
