Soma Bay seems the new place to be at the Read Sea coast

A truly exceptional destination at the Red Sea. While Hurghada with the Resorts next door are flooded by the masses this place is a great hide away. The only thing one could moan about is the construction going on but then I'm told it is going to be another hotel managed by Kempinski and that's a great reason to come back. La Residence with its Thalasso Spa, is set right in between its own Golf course and is currently the best place to stay in the Resort with very friendly staff.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The hotel architecture itself is lovely . The golfcourse is great and the pool area is very nice and peaceful. The housereef near the hotel is beautiful and not overcrowded. Rooms are spacious and very clean; the food has been tasty, well prepared and various. Staff is very well trained and always friendly and helpful. I can highly recommend this place if you search a really relaxing calm and luxurious holiday far away from the mainstream tourism area in Hurghada. I will definetly return to this oasis in the middle of the desert.

This hotel is superb! They pulled out all the stops for a great Christmas, even having a Santa giving every guest a stocking (even if he did have a black beard instead of a white one!) The food was great and the staff helpful but not instrusive. The only niggle was the weather - it was the coldest December for years apparently. Fortunately the hotel facilities, spa etc more than made up for that. We are planning to go back for Easter - I wonder if there will be an Easter egg hunt?
