Better than average stay...but not great.
Guest name: Minibarmuncher, San Francisco
We stayed two nights in July and can attest to the sound proofing issues in the Tower building...you can hear toilets from adjacent rooms flush and doors in the coridor closing, etc.
but the room is very nice and modern....thoughtful touches like dimming light in bathroom, separate tub shower, Molten Brown amenities, and safe and flat panel TV are quite nice.
the fitness room is smallish but very good equipment and large wndows for natural light. The bars/restaurants are a bit too much of a scene....
location in Beacon Hill was very nice for us, although the ingress/egress for autos is not great.

I stayed at the Liberty Hotel in April based on the reviews I read.
The Hotel is certainly interesting and is very busy at night in the lounges. Staff were terrific and friendly.
The room was ok not great. Bed very comfortable and large shower.
I had hoped for a view (not alot of choices) and more quiet in the hallway. Whenever a guest or housekeeping would open a door the noise vibrated through my room. Try not to stay in an end unit. (its were the housekeeping/service areas are located).
The workout area could have used a few more treadmills.
Overall not a bad hotel especially if you are single you will love it.

Bar Hotel Alibi
Guest name: jberts, Boston, MA
My friends and I met up at Alibi for a special occasion. Once we found a table the waitress came over once to give us a menu and disappeared. Then 15-20 minutes later another waitress took our drink order. After we waited yet again the waitress brought me the wrong drink. She asked, "are you sure?" I assured her vodka and Red Bull should not be clear. I was brought a new drink that was terribly weak. Meanwhile our group of friends showed and noone bothered to take orders for them. As we were walking away the waitress finally came back to ask us if we would like to pay for the tab! I wish we hadn't - very poor service and high prices!

After sleeping in more than 300 different hotels i found the Liberty hotel one of the worst ones.
I had a reservation for a 5 days. I checked out after day 2.
When i arrived i ask for an extra bed for my brother. They provided me a kind of a small sofa only about 1,5m long. Since my brother did not fit in it i the ask the hotel clerk to take it away. They didn?t.
My first night was extremelly noise. The Hotel has an inside bar and all noises were coming into the room. The walls are paper thin. Also the air conditioner compresor was kicking in and out all the time, so every 30 seconds you could heard a loud knock!
The second night was even worst. The fire alarm turned on at 2 a.m.. and It stayed on for at least 3 minutes. After that everybody was puzzed waiting at the hallways for information. We received no information from the hotel. Some people stay, some left. I end up calling the hotel reception. The clerk was very rude, he said that there was to many rooms to inform anyone. I just did no felt safe in the Liberty hotel. I end up leaving the place in the morning. When I checked out they had my room into somebody elses name with different charges.
I apologize for being so negative about it. It really made my vacation a nighmare. I just can?t believe that such a expensive hotel could have so many flaws

Instead of the (fake) champagne they give you at check in, they should give you earplugs! I read reviews of this hotel, and took the advice to book our rooms in the tower, but there is absolutely no sound proofing in this hotel, there's about 1/2 an inch of space around the - very heavy - doors. People come home at all hours of the night and it's like they are standing next to your bed, even if they whisper, you hear the slamming of the doors the whole night!
Great place for night -owls, but not for families!
It's not all bad, we had dinner at the hotel's Italian restaurant Scampo, and it was superb. The concierge was also extremely helpful and gave us some great tips. Location is great, rooms were ok, bathrooms a little dark, and we could have used a light in the closet.
