Simply The Best

As a regular traveller, both for business and pleasure, I can heartily recommend this fine hotel as one of the best I have ever visited.
We stayed in a "Junior Suite" for seven nights but only used the hotel restaurants twice. The "Finca" restaurant is reputed to be one of the best culinary experiences in Spain and the cuisine lived up to that reputation. Six courses (if you can magage them all) and as much wine as you can drink cost us 65 Euros each. Booking is a must on a weekend as the local Spanish are frequent patrons.
The smaller restaurant provides an equally excellent menu but can actually work out more expensive than the "Finca" if you over-indulge on the wine!
The landscaped gardens are very well-maintained and for the more adventurous there are several rural treks along rough roads around the Olive Groves. Good shoes are recommended!
The staff are friendly and attentive but not over-bearing.
This is probably not the place for teenagers looking for dancing and posing; but for peace, tranquility and excellent food, this is the place to stay in Andalucia.

The grounds are very nice, the location though a little far away from the cities is quite tranquil. In general the stuff is quite nice, but the rooms are a bit dated and the skeleton staff does not do a good job in terms of providing information about the surrounding area or activities in Granada. But worse of all, Internet does not work! there is no wired connection and if you are on a room further away from the lobby, WIFI signals does not reach, I think there are more rooms without decent signal than with. They did help us out with other connections or using the computer in the lobby, but it is a hassle. And the house keeping is horrible, they left half open bottles of wine in the room before we checked in, i put a bath robe in the tub to be washed and they just hang it right back, i even saw one the the cleaning person took a plate which i used to eat fruits, throw away the stuff on top wiped it with a piece of cloth and just pick it back on the table, as if it was already cleaned!

We have just returned from 4 nights at the Bobadilla before moving on to our main villa holiday.
The hotel is set in beautiful gardens and they look well maintained. There is a very tranquil feel to the hotel although that could be down to the fact that we arrived 1 week before their season started and there were 8 guests in the hotel. I think they may have been operating on skeleton staff before the start of the season, and, many staff didn't speak English.
We each had a spa treatment however, the pedicure I received was extremely amature, the door was left open during the treatment for everyone (all 4 of them) in the indoor pool to look in. I also feel 60 euros for a pedicure and 90 for a massage was fairly expensive and the quality very poor. The outdoor pool was FREEZING and my 3 year old wouldn't get back in after her lips turned blue. We then took her to the indoor pool and was surprised that although we were guests, we had to pay 21 euros each to use the pool and we couldn't take our daughter in after 2pm as they don't allow children in after this time. I think that's mean considering the daily rate we paid for our junior suite and the fact that there were few guests staying. Onto the dining: The bar area does not serve food. Children can eat in here from the kids menu however, if you also want a snack, you can order from the room service menu but have to eat it in the restaurant (v. confusing). The food in La Finca was poor - tiny portions and the food tasted although it had been kept in plastic storage boxes. We ate here twice and only one meal was satisfactory. We had to move once as one couple had their small son with them who was throwing decorative pebbles around the dining room. Not good value. The other restaurant was worse with Paella at 90 euros for a pile of overcooked mushy rice. Breakfast was the best experience of the day food wise. The staff were very attentive and there was a huge selection of buffet food to try as well as items cooked to order.
The Room: Beautiful junior suite however, the ants kept coming through the wall into our room. The reception sent up a maid who sprayed the area with 1 CAN of Raid much to my horror (I can still taste it). She then vacuumed them up. When they continued to come through the next night, they sent the maintenance man to spray something outside. They were extremely thoughtful - they left another can of raid for us to use should we require it. The next night, we left the babysitter to sort out the flying ant problem as we had waited in until 8pm- we left the next day. The complimentary fruit basket and water was a nice touch though. The decor was very tasteful with great huge bathtub.
We booked our daughter for a pony ride which was a waste of time and very unprofessional. There are better stables in the area with better facilities.
We only stay at 5* resorts and hotels and this experience was by now way 5*. In fairness everyone we met in the area (during our stay at the Villa) ooed and aahhed when we told them we'd just stayed at the Bobadilla so, I feel we may not have received the usual treatment emparted by the hotel, especially reading the reviews here.
