For a first time guest, of advanced age (I am 80), I was pampered from the first moment I set foot on the premises to the last, 24 hours later. Reception was well-informed, got me a best ticket for a sold-out ballet performance at the Opera, upgraded me to a park view room, got my luggage, small as it was, to the room in no time, greated me by name every time I called, etc. etc. A bell-boy brought me and my luggage to the station right to the platform and offered me the same service on arrival for my next visit. Complimentary Sunday newspaper, bottle of water, shoeshine, evening turn-down service went together with my medium-sized single bedroom (104) which had everything from Multichannel TV, WLAN, superb bedding with choice of pillows, well-appointed bathroom with deluxe toiletries, a comfortable shower and piping hot water. Cleanliness was evident everywhere. The breakfast buffet was the most sumptious I have seen in a long time, with plenty of seasonal fruit, cold cuts, yoghurts and muesli, various teas and infusions, and a variety of egg dishes. The one-star restaurant, Zirbelstube, was worth the visit, although not cheap, for its interesting menu, excellently prepared and elegantly served. Alltogether, I wonderful week-end at this hotel from where I could reach all the sights on foot within minutes and could walk into the park, the Schlossgarten, with no effort.

This was a one night stay for us and there were no complaints. Rooms were cozy, but very clean. The hotel is very central for Stuttgart, as it is a 3 minute walk from the main train station.
The package we got did not have a b&b portion so we did not have any interaction with the restaurant.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. If we return to Stuttgart on business or leisure we would stay here again.

The reviewer from Hong Kong was spot-on on everything but I didn't find it dated. It was clean, a definate 4 star hotel, with courteous, competent staff.
The location is fabulous, in the center of town, and backs on a charming park. We spent most of our time in the hotel, parked on a cafe table overlooking the park. Very nice.
We had a Jr. Suite at around 275 Euros....a little expensive but worth it.
This is a Leading Hotel of the World member, and we have generally good luck with these.

I stayed at Hotel am Schlossgarten for one night on May 21, 2007. The rate was 155,-- Euro without breakfast.
At arrival there was no doorman in charge so I had to carry the luggage on my own (at reception a bell boy was available). As a Leaders Club member I got an upgrade to a deluxe room with seperate foyer and large seating area (no. 517). Fresh fruits, choclate and a bottle of mineral water were complimentary in the room. A shirt was pressed until the next morning (4,50 Euro), shoe shine was complimentary during the night.
I ordered a club sandwich via room service, which was good. A bit annoying was an additional service charge for delivery (3,50 Euro for a regular dish of the room service menu - have you ever paid a pizza delivery service seperately for delivery?).
Over all the hotel is acceptable but more four star superior and far away being something special like other Leading hotels (e.g. Adlon, Beau-Rivage Palace or Ciragan Palace). The rooms are a bit dated, some have very small bathrooms, the lobby has no atmosphere but the location is excellent and the staff is friendly (when leaving, the bellboy offers to carry my luggage to the main station which is located across the street).
