Stayed in the hotel as first stop of a 4 week tour. Got a Friday and Saturday night for about 420euros on the hotel website as part of the welcome offer including breakfast both mornings, dinner on one night, fruit in the room and a glass of champagne each in the bar. Free parking was also included in the secure underground car park. The hotel does not look great from the outside, as it has a rather dated look, and this could also be said of some of the inside public spaces too, but more than makes up for the aesthetics in other areas. The classic room was not huge, but more than adequate with a view over a park at the rear of the hotel. There was a decent bathroom with shower over the bath, and the bedroom has a really comfortable bed, AC and flat screen TV. All the staff were exceptionally freindly and helpful, and we flet we were getting the service one would expect in a 5 star establishment. Breakfast on both mornings was great, with a help yourself buffet with plenty of choice. We ate dinner (included in our package) on the Friday night, and while there is a more limited choice for the set menu, the food was excellent, although the restaurant lacked a little atmosphere, as there were only 4 or 5 tables occupied and the nearest one to us has 4 VERY drunk American chaps on, who were a little loud, but generally well behaved. We only choose to stay in Luxembourg as it was generally about halfway between home and Switzerland, and didnt expect too much from the city, but we had an excellent time, and being just a 5 minute level walk to the 2 main squares of the city was just great. Plenty of bars and restaurants in this area, and there was also a festival on the weekend we were in town, with music and dancing in the street. All in all 10/10 for the hotel and for Luxembourg.

Got a great weekend deal on this 5* hotel from gtahotels, including breakfast. Wonderful very plush modern Hotel in centre of Luxembourg just a few steps from main squares of old city. This really is a 5 star hotel, unobtrusive yet friendly staff, beautiful comfy well equipped room, fantastic huge breakfast (even had real bucks fizz). Free shuttle either to airport or, in our case, to railway station. This is our third time in Luxembourg and this hotel is without a doubt the best we've stayed in. Meals very expensive so we didn't eat in but the piano bar though pricey has to be tried. Lovely inner courtyard outdoor area too.

Great Business Hotel in the Heart of Luxembourg Best location for conducting business and staying in the midst of things. Half your clients will come and see you, as you are so centrally located. Right in the heart of the city, with great rooms, great breakfast, and lounge/cafe/bar to conduct business meetings, and the service is great! All the cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and attractions are within easy walking distance.

We had a royal experience in this hotel. Had a perfect deal trough amex included an upgrade to the royal club wing rooms. Everybody very friendly from bellboy to cleaning staff and everybody else, really pleasure just to be in this friendly atmosphere. Also to recommend : the pomme cannelle restaurant ! Breakfast buffet : excellent ! Rooms : excellent ! The only disappointment to me was the outside view of the hotel. I expected with a name like 'le royal' something that looks a bit royal, but in fact the royal is only for the threatment you get once inside. All in all a lovely experience !
