Fantastic location just 3 minute walk to the Opera House and the pedestrian shopping area. Huge washrooms with gold fixtures and bidets. 24-7 business centre with four computers and printers, and 24-7 smallish but functional gym. Very helpful conceirge who found difficult to obtain Vienna Choir Boys tickets for me. Overall, very pleasant stay!

I’ve stayed on Grand Hotel for 3 days in April and the hotel was everything it announced. Good, although formal service. The location is the best possible, within 1 block to opera, and 2 blocks to Hofburg Complex and Stephanplatz, so you don’t need even to enter the subway.
The room was exquisite and full of technology gizmos (we were upgraded to a Deluxe Room by being member of lhw.com), and the 6? floor has a nice view over the Kaerner Ring but is really quiet at night.
Would stay here again the next time I will travel to Vienna.

I had high hopes for our stay, but was more than a bit disappointed. Our room was a shoebox with too much furniture in it. Our bed was a double, not a queen and we had no where to put our luggage and literally had to step over it in order to walk around the bed.
The bathroom is decorated nice, but it had hair in it when we first arrived. This is a big "no-no" for me. Also, the bath and shower are one and the tub wall is thick, covered by marble and requires a bit of agility to get in and out of. It is harder to exit when the tub is wet. The drain did not drain very well and I ended up standing in my own shower water for most of the shower.
The first night we were without a comforter, but it mysteriously appeared the second night. Turn down service was offered at 4-4:30 PM every night, always when we were cleaning up for dinner, not convenient at all. As a result, we never got the service during our 3 night stay.
I actually checked the mattress for bed bugs because I felt that it was very old. It was incredibly hard and we were both stiff during our entire stay. There was little comfort to our room and cleanliness was questionable.
I personally, would not stay in this hotel again and find it much too costly and uncomfortable for the standards expected of a luxury hotel.

Booked the hotel online for a Saturday to Monday stay, as we were going to the opera on Sunday afternoon. A few weeks before the stay we asked the concierge to get tickets for the Viennese boys choir who sing in a chapel every Sunday, but tickets are hard to get. These were sorted for us (for a 30% commission) and awaited us on arrival. The location is really excellent, we really were 2 minutes away from the Opera house, 3 from the palace, museaums etc. and the main shopping street was just around the corner. The public areas of the hotel were nicely done and a pianist played in the downstairs bar every evening. The main bar had piped eurotrash music, which they turned down but not off. Great variety at breakfast, good buffet. The breakfast/lunch dining room is alright with the service being okay rather than as good as the numbers of staff would warrant. We also had lunch there on Sunday and there was a nice variety of salads/soups/breads etc.
We had booked an exclusive room with a kingsized bed. The room was large and decorated in restful greens, really lovely. Well stocked mini bar, television with a good variety of radio stations, the television channels had only 2 english speaking channels but good variety for linguistically gifted - I guess. The room had a sofa and coffee table as well as the usual bed/desk arrangements. The bathroom was great, marble, double sinks, very powerful shower and deep bath. The toilletries were okay, not great. The kingsized bed was made up with two individual quilts, which was bit drafty but we didn't get around to asking for a king sized quilt. Worth specifying when you book. Very technical room - lights, blinds, music, alarms etc. could all be controlled from the phone. Unfortunately we forgot to switch off the automatic 'do not disturb' sign when we left the room on our first day so the maid didn't come in to clean, but that was our fault.
Anyway, would thoroughly recommend it, the staff were very helpful, relaxing and discrete, the location is fantastic and it is worth the money.

I booked this hotel for a weekend stay after reading the positive reviews here, and was not disappointed. I received a good advance rate through the hotel's own site. I requested a quiet room away from the elevators and was delighted with the results--we were placed as far as possible from the elevators, and there didn't seem to be anyone else near us.
The room itself was very large, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was very spacious and very clean. Nice shower pressure and plenty of hot water.
When my husband had trouble connecting to the internet the concierge sent someone up to fix the problem within 15 minutes.
We enjoyed drinks in the lovely bar and a very nice dinner in the restaurant "Le Ciel" post-opera (the State Opera is quite close and was an easy walk home even in frigid November winds). Location was very good for strolling and site-seeing.
Staff were charming--friendly but not too informal.
In all, just what I wanted out of a nice stay in the old Imperial capital.
