Not only is the hotel in the worst location, costumer service had to be one of the worst I have ever recieved. They spoke to you with atittude as if they're doing a favor by paying attention to your requests. The person who seemed to be in charge is just as worst and after demanding to be noticed he actually asked us to leave the lobby just because we needed directions. the TV screen was green when turned on.
I would not recommand a lost sewer rat to stay in this hotel.
Thats all I gotta say. 130 bucks for 1 night wasted on discomfort and humiliation.
never again.

Depressing neighborhood. Adjascent property is boarded up. This hotel was being renovated and we were put in a room directly under one in which the crew was using an air hammer to remove old tile. unable to hear ourselves shout, we had to repack and move to another room. The rooms show their age. A security guard patrolled the grounds regularly (but the need for this kind of security made us a little uncomfortable). Close to the toll road but few services nearby. You get what you pay for. A low priced room with a low quality experience. Definitely not the usual La Quinta experience.

So we pull back into West Palm Beach this afternoon, and to save time we head right back over to the La Quinta Hotel located at 5981 Okeechobee Blvd. The girl at the desk recognizes us right away as we spent a week there just a week ago. Yet she wont give us the same room rate we had because rates were up due to the holiday. Although the place seems empty anyway, she says she cant do it with a coupon. The current rate was over $100 a night. Unless that room comes with a Strip Pole, and a Jacuzzi, I cant see spending that on their rooms. JJ goes down the block to find a coupon booklet in a McDonalds. By the time he returns with a coupon I’m told that I am on their ’no rent’ list. Which apparently means I have been black balled. Of course this girl has no idea why other then to say that while we were getting the coupon, another employee saw the Rari outside and informed her. She also said that her manager called her yet she would not get me on the phone with her manager Elizabeth Patterson because of the holiday. That’s strange I thought. It’s because of the holiday I thought Elizabeth might be interested in taking my call. What better deed can you do on Christmas if not take a call, clear up some confusion, and rent a hotel room. At this point the girl behind the counter explains that I was black balled because I complained too much… and it all made sense! And this is where Jackie comes into the picture. Jackie rented me the room in the first place last week. She was pretty cool and we joked around a bit. She even pulled a coupon out of a booklet from behind the counter and hooked me up. That was pretty cool of her I thought. When we got in the room it turned out there was no wireless signal on that side of the hotel. Jackie quickly assisted me find the last room available that would have wireless internet. Picture me walking from room to room with my laptop out looking for a signal. So when we found it we hammered out the details, Jackie was so cool that she said she would give me 3 nights free for the trouble. I was like great! We were booked for like 6 nights total. Things were looking good right. Once in the room we did experience a plethora of problems. The toilet running, shower not draining, aints in the room, etc. By the end of our stay we had a stack, and I mean stack of room keys that had failed. Now keep in mind for each failed room key you had go up stairs to find out it was not going to work and then come down to get a new one. It literally got to the point were we would just have to park and go to the desk for a new key first if you wanted to save the trip. One night when we got back to the hotel the little lights weren’t lighting up at all when inputting the key. I had wondered what powered that locking mechanism. We were now about to find out. There is a battery pack in that door handle, of course that could not be changed out in the middle of the night because there was no maintenance people there. Security had to pry the door open with a crow bar, and they offered to move our room. But wait, that’s right… then no internet. So we opted to stay… and keep someone in the room through the night so we could get back in and wait for it to be changed out in the morning. So lets recap… they did come the next afternoon after several phone calls to replace the batteries on the door lock. And they came the first day to clear the tub drain so water would pass. The toilet we discovered if you mess with the handle you can get it to stop so we let that slide, and we went out and bought our own stuff to kill the aints so we would not have to change rooms. I feel like we really never complained except for two primary functions that a hotel room should offer. The ability to enter the room your paying for, and take a shower. So what ended up coming clear in that moment was that when checking out Elizabeth became aware of my account. When she asked why are we getting 3 nights comp’ed Jackie covered her neck, and threw me under the bus when she expressed that I had complained. The fact is those nights were comp’ed before I even made it into the room. And it’s not that I don’t appreciate the hook up because I do! However, I don’t appreciate being thrown under the bus, and I don’t appreciate being black balled from a freakin La Quinta. Interestingly though… what does this tell us about La Quinta’s policy. And this part is humorous, if a customer has a complaint, just put him on the ’no rent’ list and don’t rent him a room anymore? Now I never went to hotel management school so I’m just shooting in the dark here, but what if that energy was spent, better yet invested in repairing simple ordinary everyday maintenance issues like showers, toilets, and aints, so customers would not have to complain. Thus establishing a good reputation with the community and having a higher level of occupancy.
In a semi related topic part of my motivation to follow up on this situation is because I took something personal. Not only did Jackie hold my head down while trying to save her own neck, she also attempted to delude and confuse the situation further in the hopes that it would take more attention off her, and put it on me. In her own right she succeeded. Jackie went as far as to make accusations that I was harassing her sister, who also works at La Quinta. If by harassment she means persistence then I am guilty. There were about 20 or so Direct TV vans that appeared to live at the hotel. I remembered that in our bus we have a satellite dish on the roof, but no box inside. I thought I might be able to buy a box from one of the guys who were staying at the hotel. So started with Jackie, who put me in touch with her sister and her sister’s boy friend. The phone numbers got exchanged, I was told they would have one later in the evening. I checked with Jackie’s sister several times once returning to the hotel in the hopes to purchase a box before leaving town. Obviously that didn’t work out and Jackie said to stop harassing her sister, so I immediately dropped it. But of course there are two parts that bother me about this. One, be straight up, tell me no if you don’t want to or can not sell me a box. Or tell me you could not get a box, pretty basic stuff here. Put simply, don’t string people along, and then wonder why they are still on the hook. And two, and more importantly, don’t through words like harassment around freely and then utilize that as a form of defamating ones character to save your own neck when Elizabeth is looking for answers. Just man up and take responsibility. It’s part of growing up.

COCKROACHES!! Was forced to stay here for a music festival in the area. I was there 3 nights, had to move my room because of cockroaches and mini ants. Disgusting!! Too bad because the people that work there are really nice and with a little effort from ownership to work on the place, it could be very acceptable. STAY AWAY!!

This hotel had to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The hotel is so OVERPRICED, and everything is GROSS inside. THe blankets had holes in them, the bedding looked unwashed. There were spots all over the carpeting. The pool is a joke, and full of things floating in it. The customer service in nonexistent.
The bathroom had mildew, and chipped paint everywhere!! I was so gald that we were only there for 14 hours. We have stayed at hundreds of hotels in traveling with my sons baseball team, and some were pretty cheap. Yet, I put his hotel on the top of my list as the WORST place to stay!! AVOID at all cost.
