During our stay, there were two vehicle vandalism incidents in the parking lot, including my own. The hotel would not compensate me for the damage done to my vehicle stating "there were signs indicating that the hotel is not responsible for damage" to vehicles in their parking lot. These signs were not visible or I would not have chosen this particular establishment. Unless you desire to have your vehicle damaged or stolen, stay away from this place.

This is a great property - it's close to the Arboretum area (now also the Domain) for shopping and very easy access without traffic to downtown via Mopac (exit Windsor). I have been a guest of this property for several nights during each of the past 4 years. I have always booked online using either their "LMD" (Last Minute Deals) promotion or another discount. LaQuinta hotels also offer discounts for Sam's Club members. I've stayed in all non-smoking rooms, some double, some king with fridge and microwave. I prefer the king rooms. During the warmer months, it is nice to get 1st floor room facing the courtyard. These rooms have a door from the room to the courtyard which is nice. The breakfast is consistently made up of the same items and it is always well organized and well stocked. One particularly busy weekend, there was a wedding party staying over and during the busy breakfast rush, the owner himself was assisting with clearing tables and re-stocking items. This LaQuinta does offer the make your own malted waffles which is good and great for kids. The property is near the Arboretum and since the Domain has gone up in Austin it is just about 2 blocks north of The Domain (Neiman Marcus end) along Mopac (1). Happy travels!

Sehr hübsches Hotel in Austin.
Beim Einchecken ging alles glatt.
Nice, clean, would stay again but hard to find!

A few people already have mentioned how incredibly hard it is to find this hotel but I had Map Quest and it was still a nightmare fortunately my daughter has good instincts and I let her drive and she found it. Aside from that I have no complaints. The place was clean, nicely laid out and close to a lot of fast food places. I was there a year ago this month, went last year to see the Lord of the Rings Trilogy at the Alamo Draft House and found it conveniently located for that though next time I’ll stay at a hotel downtown, somewhere I can actually find.
Nevertheless I rather liked the ambience, one reason I'm reviewing so late. The place really stuck in my mind and whenever I see a La Quinta I think to myself I'd like to try it. I haven't yet due to previously made plans but one day I'll try another and see if it's comparable.
