Booked La Quinta because my dog had to have surgery nearby and La Quinta took dogs. I want to warn that I am not a La Quinta fan so I will try and be as fair as possible (some of you might not think so after reading this review). I checked in around 8:30 p.m. and they assigned me a room on the 2nd floor. Upon arriving in the room, I found housekeeping there cleaning so I returned to front desk to ask for another room (not a big deal). They then moved me to a room on the 3rd floor. I dropped my dog off in room, made numerous trips to bring my stuff up and when I pulled back the bedspread I found a huge yellowish stain on sheets (basketball sized). It might have been a drink spill or even urine?! right where one's rear end would sit on a bed. This was a room with a double bed so I said to myself, I am too tired to ask for another room at this point so I pulled back the other bed and found a similar colored yellow stain on the sheet, again maybe a drink or urine stain? I went down to front desk again and told them, they seemed very indifferent and offered me another room. I asked for the night manager, but the front desk told me she was not there. Ok, so I'm tired after my long drive in from out of town, so I just take the other room with no complaints (luckly no stains in the 3rd room!), but of course small hairs in tub, which I washed out. The next morning I told the day manager, she was not at all concerned, but to her credit did offer me a discount. I told her that I was not interested at all in a discount, just that they are aware of dirty rooms. I am normally a very easy going person and don't mind a few hairs here and there, they do get missed some in hotels, but the combination of dirty sheets, hairs in bathroom and a completely indifferent staff, made me wonder why I was staying there (even at Motel 6 they are nice sometimes and show concern!). Again, as I stated before I am NOT a La Quinta fan and the only reason I stayed here was because they allowed dogs and it was close to my dog's vet for surgery. For a comparable price, I feel Hampton Inn beats La Quinta in so many respects, but they typically do not take dogs.
