The hotel has a great location, right next to 2 highways. There are 3 restaurants next to the lot, so you can either sit in or get your food delivered. Price is reasonable. Book thru the hotel site & save.
Pro:
* location
* free breakfast
* outdoor pool
* fitness center
Con:
* noise from the highways
* waterstain on the bathroom ceiling
* ring of mold in the sink
* aged mattress
* no fridge, which can be had for an extra 20 bucks
* small bathroom, if you're over 180 lbs, it'll be very tight.
* only 1 person at the front desk, who answers the phones and does the check in/out.
I will probably try out the newly renovated La Quinta on the other side of the highway before I consider coming back to this location.

Stayed at La Quinta Austin North with my family (and Yorkie). Don't expect pampering, but clean, efficient, and good price.
The hotel is very pet friendly, without requiring a deposit. Continental breakfast is adaquate, but arrive early. Convenient location to Round Rock and Highways 183, I-35, and Austin in general. You can be at the State capitol in approximately 10 minutes, with traffic cooperating. I would probably stay there again in I'm in the area.

My husband and I stayed here for one night before my competition in Austin. We weren't sure what to expect because of the price. We don't normally stay at La Quintas, but all of the other hotels were sold out.
Upon arrival, I was nervous about the amount of kids and music in the parking lot. There was some sort of music festival going on the same weekend, so lots of party people around all of Austin. I mentioned my concern when we checked in and the hotel clerk said that if there were any problems we should call and they'll take care of it. Security was on site. I also asked for a late check-out so that I could shower after the race. No problem.
The room was very large, and the doors set back from the hallway so it helped with any noise.
I slept great, no noise problems at all! The room was exceptionally clean, nice beds and bedding. I'm used to staying in 4 and 5 star hotels, so this was a pleasant surprise. I grabbed some breakfast on the way out. It was nicely laid out with everything that I could have wanted.

It was a great hotel. The lady at the front desk, Bianca, was very accomodating and the room was wonderful with more features than I'd expect in a typical La Quinta. The hotel was well kept and the rooms neat. The free breakfast was also good. I would definitely want to stay in this hotel the next time I visit Austin!

An excellent hotel.

This was our first time in Austin and we were very pleased with our decision to stay here. Everything about the hotel was excellent, from the large attractive lobby area, to our large room, and an excellent breakfast. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful with directions to the downtown area and suggestions on where to park to see the bats. There does not appear to be any restaurants within walking distance, but there are several good restaurants within a mile of the hotel. For a nice dinner the desk clerk recommended Carrabba's and it was excellent. We definiteley would stay here again.
