Disgusting. I don't think our room was ever cleaned. There was a pair of dirty underwear in between our sheets and a used protective item (if you know what i'm getting at) stuck to the inside of our garbage can. The bathroom appeared okay but the desk was sticky. When we approached the desk clerk about it she just said ick and walked away. We found a manager and got a refund and left immediatly.
My ratings for this hotel are:
1.0 Check in / front desk
1.0 Value
2.0 Service
1.0 Rooms
3.0 Location

It's fine but nothing great

We got a nice price on this hotel from Priceline. The location was good as well. When we got there, the staff was friendly and helpful but the smell from cigarettes was definately noticeable.
Our room was on the second floor and we had little kids so the fact that the building has no elevator was a problem. They tried to put us into a smoking room, but we put a stop to that.
The pool area was clean and nicely maintained. The people who were there were in good spirits (take this literally if you will) but that was OK.
The bathrooms were puny but the beds were comfortable.
We do have to compliment the breakfast. Better than average for this type of hotel. And it was free. They get points for that!
All in all, a good basic hotel but be careful if stairs are a problem for you.
Great Stay!

I had to travel to Wausau, WI unexpectedly to visit my brother who was hospitalized at the local hospital. They listed various hotels on the hospital website who offered reduced rates for visiting family, etc. The La Quinta rate was $39.00 vs. the $69.00 regular website rate. The were very polite on the phone when I made my reservation and asked if I had a preference of room type and location. I asked for a double/double near the indoor pool/jacuzzi and that is exactly what I got. They also knew I was arriving early and let me check in at 10:00am. The room was spotless, the staff friendly and the complimentary breakfast was great. It included hard boiled eggs, belgian waffles, fruit compote, yougurt, fresh fruit, cereal, juices, oatmeal and hot chocolate packets, coffee and various types of breakfast breads and bagels, danish, etc. I had a rental car but several restaurants were within walking distance. McDonalds, Little Cesar's, Subway and a nice sit down casual family type restaurant "Hudson's". Each member of the staff inquired how everything was going when I saw them in passing. The pool was open late and you needed a key card to enter that area as well as the side doors. Marathon Park was close by and also a large grocery store and strip mall. I thought it was a great bargain and the area seemed safe and the location was only 1 mile from the hospital.
