Inexpensive, No Frills Overnight Hotel

I generally fly to Reno at night and need a place to sleep for a few hours before pressing on to my hometown in the Sierras. La Quinta fits the bill nicely. It's inexpensive and close to the airport. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They have a free shuttle to/from the airport if you need it, and free parking for travelers (my folks leave their car there regularly when they fly).
There's free breakfast and wi-fi, both nice touches.
If you need a place to overnight before or after flying from the Reno airport this is the best choice.

My husband and I go to Reno, NV (our favorite area) for his bowling tournment every three years. We also use this time as our vacation time. The first year we stayed at a resort hotel right in the middle of all the action downtown. it was ok, but our room didn't have a coffee maker. You had to actually walk through the casino to even get a cup of coffee. There was nothing on the TV except casino advertisements and the whole experience was not peaceful. We aren't gamblers, so there wasn't anything for us there. We actually felt that we had spent "big bucks" for nothing. Now we stay at the La Quinta on Market Street. It has a coffee maker, TV stations to watch. It's quiet. The pool is maintained nicely and it's a pleasure just sitting around it. The hotel and rooms are clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's close to the airport, which is nice, if you have an early flight to catch. And of course you can't beat the "free" continental breakfast! We found everything we needed at the La Quinta. And the price was very reasonable. We couldn't be happier with our stay at the La Quinta and will stay there on our returns visits to the area.

I stayed at this La Quinta Inn for one night in July 2007. I had spent several days in Virginia City and decided to head down the mountain to be closer to the airport the night before my early morning flight.
Rate was OK for a Saturday night. Check in was very efficient. Staffer none too friendly but efficient. I had asked for a 1st floor room but neglected to ask for one on the outside. I was placed in an inner courtyard room which complicated things a bit since I was only there for one night and had to be moving luggage in and out.
Room and bathroom was very clean. In fact, pretty spotless. Had a double room. Basic but clean. Once I checked the room out I realized that there was no remote with the TV so I called the front desk who said they would send one over with a maintenance man. Half hour later, I decided to go out and get it myself.
It's a La Quinta, so apparently no wake up service was available. That made it a bit dicey the night before an early flight. Woke up on time on my own though. Check out was fine. The hotel is a couple blocks from the airport, but depending on the time of your flight I wouldn't walk it. A shuttle is available during normal hours to take you to the airport. During the early morning hours you can call the front desk who will call for a cab for you. The complimentary cab will to take you to the airport.
All in all, nothing to write home about. I wanted something basic and close to the airport and that's what I got.
Feel free to email with any questions. Have a great trip!
