Check in was great, very friendly, helpful lady. Room was clean, bathroom was spacious and bed was comfortable. Internet access worked great. I asked for Courtyard to avoid the road noise from -95.
I would have been better with the road noise. The courtyard is a tiny strip between two concrete structures parallel to each other. The partiers were up unti 3:30 and every laugh, scream, etc was channelled though the closed door. At 6:30am the kids's soccer team was up practicing loudly in the courtyard while their chaperones nursed hangovers?
If I stayed again I'd try to get a room facing away from 95 and not in the courtyard.

Check in went well, hotel was easy enough to find. I found that the front desk staff was very nice and helpful. My room was next to pool, but the noise was not bad. One complaint I had was pool said no pets allowed and I noticed someone was letting their dog swim in the pool! YUCK! I was mad about that because I wanted to take my baby in the pool. I had problems with the payperview movie and took several times for it to work and the front desk person let us watch it for free. The bathroom was a bit dirty, floor needed to be washed, but bed was comfortable and there was a nice welcome kit when we arrived. Bag full of candy and a free water. Several times the room was not cleaned after being gone all day, housekeeping was kinda scary. Teeth missing, swearing while working, so I was not that upset that they didnt clean my room a couple times. Less time in my room the better I guess. Didnt go there to stay all day in room so it was not a big deal. Was nicer then some of the pits I have stayed in, so I would recommend it to people; plus location was great, easy to get on freeways and highways.

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times over the past 2 years, the latest time being June 20-22, 2007. We=n got to the hotel just after 3, the check-in time, and were given a room right away. Check-in took all of 2 minutes. The hotel is a run of the mill 'motor-inn' that's really starting to show its wear. While this didn't effect my stay, I did make me a little worried as I pulled into an empty parking lot. Coming back from a movie later that night to a nearly full lot was much more comforting, so it may have just been the deserted feel, but either way the hotel is nothing special to look at.
We seemed to be the only people who stayed more than one night. When we left the room around 9:30 the next morning, the once full parking lot was nearly empty again. We went down to breakfast and found pretty much everything gone. The breakfast area isn't very big and it looked like everything outside of the cereal wasn't very healthy. We skipped it and didn't bother the next morning, but I would recommend getting there early if you plan on eating.
The hotel is right next to I-95 but I didn't hear any noise from the highway or other guests. There's not a lot to walk to around the hotel. A Denny's is right in front of the hotel along with a really shady looking Steak and Ale, both of which could be easily walked to. I'm not sure the Steak and Ale is open. It's still listed on their website, but I didn't see anyone going in or out. The road the hotel is just off of, Baymeadows Road, can be really busy - so much so that it can take more than 5 minutes just to get from the hotel onto 95. Not the hotel's fault, just letting people know. There are other fast food restaurants on Baymeadows but I don't know if there are sidewalks and I imagine it would be hard to cross the street when the traffic is heavy. While I wouldn't recommend the hotel as a base for visiting Jacksonville, it doesn't take long to get downtown or to the beaches if one were so inclined.
The room was fine. It smelled a little funny when we first got in but I didn't notice that again. Bed comfortable, room generally clean, the bathroom was a little dirty in some of the edges, but only if you were looking (which I now do after reading these reviews!!). There was no fridge in the room, but there was an iron and ironing board. I was happy to have this but was a little disappointed to see the edges of the ironing board covered with what looked to be mold. I didn't really care that much as I just wanted to touch up a shirt and was happy to have the iron, but it was a little gross.
Basically this hotel is perfect for someone who's just staying for the night and only wants to sleep or doesn't mind having to drive to dinner/breakfast. It's very average in the sense that it doesn't do anything well enough to make you want to really want to go back nor does it do anything poorly enough to make you want to never return. There was a sign hanging on the hotel saying all the rooms were $59.99, so it is cheap. Keep in mind there are a lot of other cheap hotels right around (America's Best Value Inn, some local motels, etc) so you might be able to find an even cheaper rate. Happy travels!
