I have stayed at La Quinta's before and always had good experiences especially when booking through orbitz or hotwire. However this was an unfortunate exception. I reserved a smoking room with a king size bed and check in was at 1:00pm. We were not able to get our room until 4:30. We had little sleep in the last 24 hours as well as a long drive, and the best they could offer was a two twin non-smoking, which was quite a down grade. We decided to stick with what we paid for. Our room was on the third floor. The parking lot does not offer adequate room facing parking, so we had to hike to the elevator and stairs. The elevator proved to be in terrible shape. My partner has experience with elevator repair and installation and refused to take it again after the first trip up. When we got to our room the cleaning lady was still trying to finish up. The room was ok, pretty clean and the ac was a welcomed relief. The door was was difficult to open and close. The free breakfast was good considering you get what you paid for. The pool was being "balanced" so its good that we weren't hoping to go swimming during our stay.
The location is good because of the 24 hour Reasor's food store nearby as well as a few dining options. The wireless internet was great.

The minute we opened the door, the smell smacked us in the face. The first thing I thought of was wet gorilla. They advertise they allow pets, but I didn't book a pet room or a smoking room. There was a dead cockroach in the bathroom. The tub had cigarette burn marks. The hotel was booked and we had to park in a vacant lot near the back, so we were concerned about security. But, the room appeared clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was the best part. You get what you pay for. We only needed a few hours sleep and a hot shower, but still probably wouldn't stay there again.

I stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday while traveling, and had a room in the very back, either 123 or 124. The room had been remodeled and was in perfect condition and immaculately clean. I wanted a room in the back because I have a big dog, and this hotel allows pets. I can't speak for the rest of the rooms, but I can definitely speak for the room I got and I'd stay there again, most definitely.

Great place to stay for a budget price

Great place to stay for a budget price. The property appears to be somewhat older, but the rooms were in good shape. Friendly front desk personnel. Actually had fitted sheets on the beds--non-fitted sheets are one of my pet peeves!! The room card key actually worked every time we used it--not necessarily the case with the normal magnetic key card.
Good location, just off the freeway. Continental breakfast was nothing special.
